I’ll be bringing mine in soon... was supposed to last week, but got a spring flu.
It’s definitely shuddering when warmed up, at low rpm and especially going up hills. |

I don't know the long term effects of leaving it "rumbling" but I fear it will start to affect the clutch packs in the transmission itself eventually. My main fear is I won't see that until after the warranty is expired, or after I expire it. Replacing a torque converter is one thing, rebuilding a tranny is a whole new animal. |

5 yrs 60000 miles, get rid of it. Great car but it's like my previous BMW when it comes to keeping it after 4-5 years.

Just dropped mine off at the dealership. Had the shudder at about 15,000 miles. Had the tranny flushed. Now it returned at about 21,000 miles. Shudder wasn't quite as bad as it was the first time, but I just want this problem fixed.

on a side note do they at least replaced the torque converter with a updated part? or they put the same POS torque convert in so you have to come back in a year again ?

I'm 6 months and 6000 miles since my service. Still good so far but keeping an eye on it all the time.
Right now I'm on a 4 year plan with all my cars. The idea has always been to keep changing them out as close to the sweet spot of deprecation and residual value. This has historically been at the 4 year 50K mile mark for me. About then the initial deprecation has occurred and it's still new enough to hold significant value. |

I trade up every 3 years or so to keep em new, fresh and under basic warranty. Always make sure I brake even or am ahead at trade-in time.
