I contacted my dealer and they say the car hasnt been delivered to them yet. What could this mean?? It is the dealership that reports the 6000 code, right? I dont understand why they would do that.

Yes - the dealer reports it..

6000 = Delivery reported "electronically" to Chevrolet
(- some will do it - to increase "reported" sales...)
