To be fair, the low torque makes the Mustang more like 420hp...

You will see the price go up as well if the Mustang even had options like Mag-Ride or NPP exhaust.
The Mustang will also get more expensive if they ever put as much into quality as GM does.

Lol. He probably has a better point than the torque multiplication that went on for months on Mustang forum.. Multiplying max torque like engine makes that across the whole Rev range.

It almost always comes down to price. The mustang has always been the lower price alternative. That's why it sells more. GM is going after per unit profit not volume. I'm just not seeing Camaros flying off the lots. I also think there is a large portion of the population who wants their cars to be shiny, and black and painted wheels are not a thing for them. They gotta be polished or chrome, the Camaros Im seeing n the lots have black wheels. They've been there for months.

Ford makes the mustang feel lively by putting in a low 1 st gear. They ve been that way since the fox body days in the '80s.

Ok we need to be more specific here. We keep saying GM is going after more profit per vehicle which isn't the whole story. They armrest trying to take the overall more profitable path which is more profit per vehicle but with enough sales that the profit is actually higher when you multiply it by the number of vehicles sold.

Hence selling fewer vehicles than that volume is planned to be is still a failure.

Total development costs and capital spread across fewer vehicles than planned quickly erodes the "more profit per vehicle on fewer sales" plan.

I also doubt very much GM actually has a plan for the Gen6 that actually sells fewer vehicles than the Gen5. But that we will never know.

Has anybody heard of Tim Mahoney? He is the CMO for Global Chevrolet. Haven't heard much about this guy, but if he is behind these focus group, emoji commercials he should be fired immediately.

There has to be a massive advertising campaign for the Camaro, since there is absolutely no "buzz" or awareness that a new Camaro is out there. The evolutionary looks do not promote brand awareness. Maybe GM will surprise us, and have a massive advertising campaign soon for the 2017 Camaro (50th anniversary). Probably not.

Since Akerson is gone, maybe GM should think about bringing Joel Ewanick back.
