The Hellcats are just bonkers, I love that engine. If I could have any 2 cars, I'd get a Hellcat and ZL1. Unfortunately I have to pick only 1, so I think I'll pick...
You're right.....2.4 liter blower. My old car was 2.3 force of habit lol. I wouldnt mind having a Gen 6 ZL1 as well but I'm very happy with the 2SS. It has plenty of power for the weight but not so much you get in over your head too fast. Its paid for so that makes it even better lol.

Incorrect. They did not have 3.09 gears installed they were factory 2.62. Ive not seen much proof thats a benefit anyway.

I would much rather have a car like daves trapping 130 mph and low 11s then a hellcat trapping 126-127 in the high 10s as when you line up on the street from a roll the 130 trap is going to win every time. Time don't mean as much as some put on it. Mph is hp. Trap speed is where it's at. I have had cars run in the 11s at 145 and on the street it is beating bikes and not just fast cars from a roll.
I'm at sea level in north Florida so soon as humidity drops a little more and cools off probably end of the month I'll hit Gainesville or Valdosta with my factory tires and see if can break 10s. By the way been a fun thread it's been keeping me from work all morning. Lol
I do agree with regards to the importance of MPH over E.T. I'm the same way, I pay more attention to the MPH rather than the E.T when I go to the track. That tells me more about the car than the actual time does.

With that being said, which videos did you see of a ZL1 pulling on a Hellcat from a roll race? All the videos I saw showed the opposite, except for one that was the heavier Charger Hellcat vs ZL1.

And as far as the 1/2 mile races, while the ZL1 was ahead, the Hellcats had the higher trap speeds. The difference being a couple of mph in most cases.

As far as trap speeds in the 1/4, they more or less trap the same, maybe the Hellcat edging out the ZL1 slightly. I saw videos of the new ZL1 trapping as low as 119, and as high as 127. I did see the video Daves ZL1 trapping 130 mph, but he questions the accuracy of the traps at that track along with most people that saw the video.

Mine trapped 128 on the same track the Demon trapped 146 so that one is probably wrong! Lol. It usually traps 124-126

@BlackDevil - if you're torn between the two, you need to go take a test drive in both. The Camaro and the Challenger are really two completely different cars. The only real thing they have in common is both have two doors and four wheels LOL

The best way I can put it is that the Camaro is a sport car with a big V8. The Challenger is a big muscle car with a big V8. I can tell you from having both, that the Challenger is extremely roomy and comfortable and if I could ONLY have one, the Challenger would be it. Love the Camaro too though, but it is much more cramped.

PM sent. I didn't want to flood this thread with ZL1 vs Hellcat talk, I know what can happen when that can of worms is opened lol.

Well I mounted my Wleds from my 2013 ZL1 and took it for a drive. Hopefully in the next couple weeks, I will know if it can go in the 10s with Drag Pack only.

I thought they used race fuel, changed driveshaft, injectors and 18" rears with skinnies up front they could be called rotating mass. I'm not sure what's a mod anymore.

I'll respond tomorrow, but this thread has meandered all over the place for 30 pages LOL, I doubt anyone would mind us talking about it here. Kind of a fun thread actually and gives me a diversion at work.

That Weld setup looks the business. I have the same wheels and love them.

Very true! Lol. At least it has mostly stayed drag racing oriented. Lol

^^ I dunno about a lot of what you just posted. Lots of 9 second Hellcats and no reports of torn up transmissions that I've seen. Google TopCat. He's the guy that started all the mod testing with HHP. Lots of magazine articles etc. If he broke at transmission I never saw it discussed and he was the kind of guy that gave the good/bad/ugly. Passed away last year, but HHP is still campaigning the car today.

This is from Atco Nov last year.

I know the family and can ask them if there have been any trans issues.

Also, I'd love to know where Hellcats are for high 30s to low 40s. Lots of guys on the Hellcat forum are searching and high 40s to mid 50s are what they're finding. I can point them to the cars you've found.
