So frustrating to hear this. It sucks this country has zero deterrence right now. Meanwhile the rest of us pay ridiculous insurance rates while our freedom to enjoy hard work is removed. Don’t let the anger eat you up and change your life is all I would say.

Bangkok_ZL1 that name has an awesome ring to it haha. And yea even if someone paid you to live in Ca, it still wouldn't be enough...I'm going through the Insurance process now. Soon if not already many companies have left, won't in$ure, or there's a laundry list of fine print and exceptions that will screw you. And I have EVERY driver discount known to mankind. I had to fight, fight, of course, but lets just say I will get back what I paid for my 1,500 mile ZL1 (Dealer had 6 miles on it when I got it) that had the pretty rare carbon fibre package and everything except the sunroof and 1LE options - minus my personal car related stuff in car which btw Home/Auto WON'T cover unless listed beforehand in the actual policy. Just so you guys know. Specifically I won't get back my clear expel protective wrap, high end radar detector, new tires, stereo, carbon bits I put on inside car, and Roto-fab. Stuff like that is not covered by either policy at all. So I'm definitely out that money which came to be a good 8k or so.

Sorry to hear about your ZL1 being stolen.
I don't currently own a ZL1 but I'm in the market for one. Are you seriously considering replacing a ZL1 Camaro which has a raw, visceral, engaging involving fun driver experience with an electric car? Say it ain't so. By the way I have a technique that I use for theft prevention. I put a motion sensor from my home alarm into my cars, so if anyone were to enter the vehicle, my house alarm would be triggered by the motion sensor, and od be out there quickly with a can of bear spray. There's also a company called MasterGuard where you change a fuse in the fuse box and it will not allow the key or the push button to start the vehicle. I hope you reconsider getting that boring, unemotional Tesla electric car.🤮 Good luck finding a replacement. |

Let's just say I've had a lot of fun with 4-5-6-8 cylinder ICE and manual cars while some being NA, turbo and S/C like the ZL1. I agree it's not near as visceral, but I certainly wouldn't call the Tesla Plaid as an example not exciting. They are very hard to steal, insurance is cheap, no maintenance, no smog, no gas guzzler tax, AWD w/air suspension, great tech/software updates, instant HP/TQ, 200 mph street monsters than can carry 5 people and run low 9s @ 150. I'm not kidding myself, never do. I wish every day - I had my ZL1 back, but it's gone. So need to try something else, as I certainly will NEVER own a ZL1 or another GM product as long as I live in Ca. Your security tips are great, but it goes out the window if your home alarm get's disabled, or your car is somewhere other than home, get jacked/ or juked, etc. It's a risk at this point, I'm not willing to take having been through it once already, if not more counting other thefts....
