I would still have my 2015 Z51 if a cane did not flood it in the garage.

It’s definitely this right now, BUT we also have to take sales numbers during covid/post covid with a grain of salt (when the Camaro was still produced. . Production was not able to fully catch up in 2023 so manufacturers had to decide which cars were going to get produced more and which ones were going to get produced less.
Precovid (before production issues) Camaro was in 3rd place.

Most of GenZ (me) and Millennials are broke and can barely afford rent. Let alone a sports car.

No one has touched the fact that the ZL1 is one of the most sought after cars by thieves and the insurance costs of owning one is through the roof!

The dirty secret in America is that the dollar has way less buying power than ever before. That affects everything. Six figures used to be a lot of money. Its not anymore. I make fairly close to the same money I did 6 years ago and it doesnt go nearly as far. 6 years ago I had WAY more money for toys and I made 15% less.
If a ZL1 1LE was available today for the same money I paid in 2020, the payment would be a BIGGER hardship for me now even though I make a bit more. Having said all of this, GM really dropped the ball with lack of advertising, lack of parts, and zero upgrades since 2019. I'd have ate Ramen and paid $20K more over sticker to trade in my current car for a LT5 powered Zl1. As it stood, they couldnt even build ZL1-1LE's to satiate the market for 2024, 2023, and 2022. Proof? There were MANY posts from people right here saying their orders were cancelled. |

Definitely why the S650 Mustang sales are horrible. I think manufacturers are cool with selling less units at higher profit per unit. That’s the biggest problem we face in this post covid world.

The base V6 cars was a solid car for kids that wanted a sporty car but parents didn't want the power of the V8 for young driver. That made up a good margin of car sales for years. Then GM made the car a huge rolling blind spot that you can't see out of, making it unsafe for younger drivers. Another is a complete lack of support from Chevrolet in terms of promoting the car. In the world of social media people like to see innovation and new. Without seeing it, many didn't even know how cool the platform was. All that was left was us purist that loved it, and that number just wasn't enough.

very good info! yeah I did not know ZL1 insurance was so high because of theft, I did see that my insurance is about 200 bucks more a year than the 25 GT I had, I was thinking the SS might be bit lower since it was year older, must be the theft rate.
I still do not get the big deal made of visibility, I adjusted quickly, use your mirrors, I do not use the camera mirror, it messes with my glasses or something. check both side mirrors when backing up, but yeah they should have improved the visibility for the 6th gen, would have helped sales. has anyone drove a C8? I have only sat in one, and visibility did not look good in it, may be worse than the camaro and no one complains, maybe because its a 2 seat sportscar? |

Discussed all of them with my insurance agent. I do not have a ZL1 Vert because I would have basically put my insurance agent's kid through college. The insurance was more than my car note. That was 8 years ago. No telling what it would be now with all the theft stuff going on. I should point out that I have a clean driving record, very view claims in the household (Mrs. ).

I can't remember seeing any advertisement for the gen6. I read online reviews and then drove one . 2 months later I got a new one. It's like the Camaro was not the image they wanted. GM wants to sell EVs. And they could make better profit making caddies in the Camaro factory.

This. I had a 3rd gen (no comparison performance-wise) but I daily drove it for decades. Roomy, giant cup holders in the door, hatch easily fit gear - even a mtn bike.
