We're taking the engine apart. It's blowing coolant out of the Moroso, as well as oil out of the crankcase. I hope it's only a gasket.

My shop says that 24 degrees is not a lot of timing, but it definitely got too hot due to not enough fuel or meth because about a 1/4" of the ground strap was burned off

They were NGK 6510 gapped at 24-26, last I heard, but I'll ask him

Need a better plug at your power level. My buddy’s 1K WHP Coyote nuked a 6510 his last time out too…melted the ground strap right off. Take a look at Brisk Silver.

I would run a 8 heat range plug for your power imo. Brisk RR12 or something equivalent

Don't I want the modified, projected tip, RR08S? This is the coldest I've seen. The 6510 is HR 07. The NGK 6509 LTR6IX-11 Iridium IX Spark Plug is HR 06.

RR08S Brisk Racing Silver Spark Plug
Brisk SKU - RR08S

Parameters:

Thread Diameter 14mm

Thread Reach 25mm-1"

Hexagon 16mm-5/8"

Seat Type Tapered

Design Silver Racing

Resistor Yes

Projected No

Heat Range - 08

You want RR12S at a minimum which is a heat range colder than the 6510. I just did RR10S which is an another step colder than that and hope to have some hard runs to test them out soon. Early testing looks good.

Which cylinder(s) had the strap partially missing? If not all of them I would point to inconsistent meth distribution. Maybe its time to go port and run Ethanol

All of the logs I saw had good Lambda but I do recall some times it would be lean for a moment which was likely the meth delay. I do recall we also ran on low boost with a no meth tune. I'm just trying to think when could this have happened. Pretty sure you checked the plugs recently so this had to have happened recently as well?

either way....lets put it in Atlas port and E85. Sunoco can deliver a 55 gallon drum of E85R

PS we have run the LTR7IX on cars up to a little over 900 wheel but they get changed often and these cars run Meth plus E75. Race gas plus meth won't keep things as cool so yeah I agree with the guys above that its time to put in some colder plugs.

I'm now thinking race gas-only.

Not comparable, NGK and Brisk use different heat ranges. Lower number with Brisk is colder and NGK is the opposite. My recommendation above is correct.
