Yea, I really thought that BMW 1M that came out around 2011 was really cool.

That would essentially shift them into the same "problem bucket" where a potential 7th gen Camaro is, though. Neither would be justifiable to GM.

I firmly believe the useless back seat in the 6th gen Camaro was a major contributing factor to the poor sales. I had to put a child seat in the back of my ZL1 one time and man was that an absolute PITA.

And whoever at GM thought it was a good idea to have to climb over the front seatbelt to get into the back seat should be shot.

At least on the 5th gen, the back seat while not great was semi-useable.

As I mentioned previously, my 5BW doesn't feel any bigger than my ZL1. I think we don't realize how much space in the 6th gen Camaro was allocated to the folded top for the convertible. Since there's no BW convertible much of that space has been allocated to the back seat.

Not at all. It would still be easier to see out of, more back seat space, bigger trunk opening, and way better interior ergonomics. Even though I just stated that I don’t think the coupe would sell that well. No one buys coupes anymore.

Op I think you are in the norm for selling your ZL1 due to the seat being too small for you. As a smaller person, I LOVE that recaro’s are the standard and only option on the ZL1 and SS 1LE however I think Chevy lost a lot of buyers by making it the only option. I’m currently trying to shop for a Shelby GT350 (19/20) and it’s near impossible finding one with Recaro’s. Ford knew its Custer base wanted comfortable seats and almost all of them have the comfort seats.

GM wouldn't ever do that, then they would be competing with the more expensive corvette with no back seat. I think they did the back seat to differentiate itself from their pride and joy the corvette.

I will say the car is clearly quicker than a ZL1 in a straight line, even though it weighs about 200-250lbs more depending on your configuration, 760hp and the DCT makes up for it. It does feel bigger and heavier than a ZL1, not as heavy as a Hellcat feels though. It is roomier insider than a ZL1 and visibiltiy is better for people that care about those things. The trunk space is also bigger or at least the trunk opening is so you can get bigger objects in there, but I never hauled anything in my ZL1 anyway other than groceries on rare occasions.

The GT500 exhaust sounds fantastic completely stock and the DCT programming is very good, much better than the C8 DCT programming. I guess for me the fact that it feels like a much bigger car than the ZL1 even though its literally almost the same size in length, width and height is still hard to adjust to after having the ZL1.

The GT500 is retaining its value very well also, literally no low mileage GT500 is going for less than their original MSRP price, most are anywhere from $5-15K over depending on year and options.
With that being said, why did you not consider a z06?

Hellcat Challenger is the best street car out of the three if you want comfort. If you are a big dude that would make the choice even easier. I'm 6'3" 270 pounds and not fat. The ZL1 seats are not the most comfortable. Bolsters are in my ribs. For bigger than average humans not going circuit racing they should of offered a GT seat like you can get in the corvette. Similar to an SS seat.

If you mod the suspension on a Hellcat they actually plant the power really well and handle good on the street. Long nose feels about like my regular cab Ram though haha.

A C8 Z06? I already had one. Fantastic car. My wife and I trade cars a lot. We both love cars and there's so many great cars to enjoy. Can't own them all at once. I wanted a GT500 when they were released in 2020 but the dealers were asking WAY too much markup on them and I wasn't willing to pay over MSRP for that car. Fast forward a few years later and one became available that I just couldn't pass up so I bought it, sold my ZL1 that I've owned for 4 1/2 years, the longest I've owned any car. Just from a direct comparison sake, the ZL1 is just a better car in almost every way. The GT500 is a little roomier, a little quicker and has better visibility but that's about it. The ZL1 is better in every other way. I'll drive the GT500 for a little while and then find something else or possibly get another ZL1 to keep forever.

You are correct, the Hellcat is the most comfortable of them all. The Recaro's in the ZL1 are FAR more comfortable than the Recaro's in the GT500. The GT500 does have an option for comfort seats, which are the base seats and they are more comfortable but not nearly as supportive as the Recaros in the GT500 or the ZL1.

I modded the complete suspension on my Challenger Hellcat, subframes, front and rear tower braces and BMR suspension components, it does help some but there's no getting around the 4500lb weight and dated chassis. I'll say this, they handle far better than they should for their weight. The GT500 is a good compromise between the roominess of the Hellcat and the sportiness of the ZL1. It doesn't excel at drag racing like the Hellcat and it doesn't handle as well or feel as precise as the ZL1 on a road course.

I agree with all the points in the previous posts, especially regarding the Recaros in ZL1 vs. GT500. The ZL1 seats are power where the Mustang's are not, and they seem even more confining than those in the Camaro, plus you sit up what seems to be much higher.

Yea, and what's worse, the GT500 Recaro's have manual height adjustment, but you do sit up rather high even at the lowest setting and the seat will only go higher, but the passenger seat feels like you're sitting on the floor with no way to adjust the height. It's ridiculous.
