I just tuned my car. Baseline hp on the dyno was 391. I got a 44 whp bump with headers/cats/Rotofab and e50. To get a 80 whp with just those simple bolt ones is very impressive!

44 WHP sounds very realistic.

I think you posted before finishing your coffee.

Agreed Josh. What's even better, is that I gained 60+ torque

Since OP didn't specify price as a factor..."there's no replacement for displacement".

At the current price point of mods, I'm planning to go with a bigger motor.

Just saying, but forced induction is very much like adding displacement, especially when using a positive displacement supercharger like the Maggie or the Whipple. Probably cheaper than a brand new 416 or 427 setup, even with the necessary fueling mods.

Agreed, and adding displacement will probably only get you an extra 40 cubic inches or so before you max out what an LT block can do. Not much bang for the buck. On the other hand, a supercharger will let you essentially double engine size for every 14.7 PSI you can feed into it… no touching that kind of power addition using just engine displacement.

Not a modder, but from things I have read it almost sounds like E85 and an LT2 intake (with tune) would get you about another 100 HP (maybe not to the wheels but to the crank which would likely be an additional extra 90whp)...

Just my thought from the outside looking in, I would think this could easily be done for under $1,000....

No way…. Probably 30-35 WHP gain tops on a stock SS for those 2 mods.

100+ crank will be several thousand dollars. i had basically every bolt on available by the time i sold the car.

2" headers
full 3" exhaust
mamo ported msd intake manifold
stock LT5 tb
modified rotofab dry
ati damper
ethanol sensor
CAPABLE TUNE(R)

2018 1ss 1LE. my car picked up 10 mph from stock to modded. im not the best driver in the world, but i am no slouch. lots of testing and data logging. in a 4 yr span, the car was dyno tuned then street verified twice. updated the tune once after that. the tuner (and driver) will make the difference in how the car performs.

id say that is 100 crank in a car with a 3900+ lb raceweight. i drove that car all over the western side of the country. sat in traffic for hours on 100* days, picked my daughter up from school and let my 70+ yo parents take it out. drove like stock with stock reliability. very easy to install bolt on parts. tough to beat no matter the cost.

Wow, really? I though E85 alone was good for about 40 HP and the LT2 intake about the same... But like I said, only things I have heard...

E85 on a stock LT1 is good for 15-20 WHP and LT2 intake is similar. You might see some variances depending on dyno runs here and there but you’ll never see the better part of 100 HP from those two mods.

E85 is great and will shine in letting you keep full power even when it’s hot out or you hot lap the car, so that’s the big benefit on a stock LT1. On a stock LT4 that becomes even more important. As you turn up the power the E85 cooling & octane is a lifesaver. When I was making a couple of hundred HP less, I dynoed my car on straight 93 and got 837 WHP. We put it to E50 and went to 927 WHP with no other changes. At my current power level I suspect it’s over 100 WHP difference.

Thanks for the info, I've not done any power mods so that is great info... Maybe when I retire I'll have my engine "built" but at this point, the power it has already has the potential to get me in "trouble" so not really sure I need more (the reason I didn't buy a ZL1, but now that the Camaro is "dead" kinda regretting that decision, however the "SS" is the epitome of the "Classic Camaro", so I am happy)...
