Likely the same as the Ghost 2 and the Ampire. All versions of the SEO CANi immobilizer that are branded.

It will for sure slow down/stop an unsophisticated thief, and I include most of the teenagers using key programmers as that process is pretty simple. But it can be defeated pretty quickly for one that understands auto electronics.

But depending on the threat level you are looking to guard against might just be fine.

If you haven't already you might want to check out IGLA.

It can be pricey for sure, but for what we've paid for these cars doesn't seem too unreasonable at least to me, especially since they aren't making them anymore. My car is one of favorite possessions and so going to do what I can to ensure that it is not taken while still enjoying all of it's features, and know that I might not be able to replace if it was stolen.

IGLA allows all of the factory features to continue to work as normal, such remote start. And it can be configured in various levels of security/convivence while still protecting your car. So much that I feel I could hand my keys to someone and walk away and know that when I come back in 20 minutes unless they have towed it away my car will be right where I left it.

Plus depending on installer there are other options you can add such as OBD blocking so the port can't be used unless you allow it, and a anti carjacking mode where even if you are forced out of the car and it is taken it isn't going to go far.

Very good advice. In another thread, it was posted that the IGLA system has a software issue with M6 vehicles and only works with automatic equipped cars. Can/has anyone confirmed this at all? I would love to eventually have it installed on a few vehicles but they are all manuals.

You probably want to talk to a different installer. It seems some are not comfortable with installing into manuals.

Though it seems like quite a few members who have manuals have had successful installs done, and have it working fine.

Also looks like an installer in the Dallas area recently installed on a manual by looking at this video

I already have 23k in this car, and I haven't touched the Motor yet, so I have no issues paying. My issue is I don't understand Tech. They have so may different option on the site. I will call them on Monday.

For anyone here that has had an igla installed and have a “manual transmission”, does your vehicle start “before” or “after” the Igla code has been entered? Reason I’m asking is because I saw someone have it and they were not happy because the vehicle could be started without the code. However, the code had to be entered before driving away with the vehicle. But they didn’t like about it was the fact that if the car could still be started in neutral, it could be pushed by another vehicle and the person in the driver seat would still have access to the power steering and brakes.

There’s only one way to stop theft, because all this
Hi tech gizmos is just a deterrent, not an end all fix!
When caught,( if caught) severe punishment! Jail time!
No parole!, and when released into the general public,
He’ll be too old to steal again!!!! Problem solved!!

Do you know anyone who has gotten this to work? According to my installer they have not gotten it to work correctly with current GM vehicles.

It will NOT start without entering the PIN code, hitting the start button without doing so will just turn the car off.

can't start until the code is put in. installer may have botched the install or it wasn't a manual

I'll let you know in a few weeks when I put mine in. I'm hoping your installer is wrong.
