Just installed the pump today! It honestly wasn't that bad. The hardest part was connecting the lines inside the tank. There is just no room in there to get to the lines. You have to drop the exhaust and driveshaft down, then the tank comes out pretty easy. Just make sure the tank is empty because you have to pick it up over the differential lines (unless you drain and remove them), I was able to get the tank out with them still in place. Total it took about 4-5 hours, but I do have a low rise lift in my garage. I routed all of the wiring under the panels/heat shields up to the DSX pump controller.

I got my car tuned on the 23rd and the Katech pump is supplying PLENTY of fuel. My car made 691whp on 93 and 731whp on E60, on a Mustang Dyno. My tuner, Pat G Tuning, said it would still be safe around 70% ethanol and could pick up another 10-20whp. My mods are Kong X-port blower, 1 ⅞" headers, no cats, Corsa intake/Xpipe/exhaust, 95mm LT5 Throttle body, FlexFuel sensor, and Katech pump. I am on stock size pulleys and made 12-13 psi of boost. I couldn't be happier with how much power it made and how well the pump did. My tuner even commented on how much low side capability I have.

I tried to upload pictures, but it keeps giving me an error message. I'll try again later.

Maybe it's just me but as a track rat who routinely drives over tall curbing, I can't get myself to feel comfortable with hoses routed externally underneath the car. I've seen way too many cars end up on fire for various reasons after an off track excursion.

When I get to the point where I need to supply more fuel I will likely pony up the $4,500 and get better injectors.

Otherwise, this looks like another solid product.

Not arguing, but none of that is really any lower than the OEM fueling, is it? It seems like there isn't the addition of more danger, or am I missing something?

Just asking

I'm no mechanic, but I think the main fuel line runs inside of the cage just to the right of the vehicle. When you lift up the rear bench seat you can see the red hose (I'm assuming that's the fuel line).

These other fuel pump are routed underneath the car.

...maybe a mechanic can set me straight.... because I've been on the fence about this mod.

What hoses are you speaking of? Our drop in pump reuses all OEM fuel lines.

The "line" I believe you're seeing is actually the wiring to his controller. NOT a secondary fuel line.

The Katech double pump drops in the tank and uses all OEM lines. It's not an auxillary pump like DSX offers.

Isn't that "line" the positive cable from the battery?... Maybe I'm not visualizing correctly.

Congrats! Those are great numbers!!! I assume you are now maxing out your injectors, or high side?

Those are good numbers. That is the most I have ever seen a stock LT4 high side handle with a stock cam lobe on E60. All of the ZL1's I have tuned need +30 and LPE HPFP to run E60 FBO with a Kong X making 13psi on stock pulleys. E50 is the most I have seen on the same setup and considered it safe. But here is the thing, there are tuners out there that will run these engines leaner then Ted or I will. I target .84, I keep injectors <5.8, and I like to see EOI above 150. Anything leaner, higer IPW, or lower EOI I consider running on the edge.

Thanks for the feedback. My tuner targets .82 lambda on my 731whp tune for the street and .80 lambda for my road course track tune.

Edit: I'm not sure what EOI is, but my tuner also said my injectors were around a 6 (high 5's) I'm not really sure what either of those mean, but that I what I was told.

I got the car on track last weekend and the new pump did very well. Even when the tank got lower, I had full OEM functionality. Unfortunately the track was very wet, but got drier towards the end of the day. I couldn't be happier with this pump. Here is a video of my fastest session with 2 views of my fastest lap at the end.

Cool video!!! SUBSCRIBED!!!

Yup. This is the final piece of the puzzle. I never liked having to tap the tank and never liked the fuel slosh issue. This is perfect. I'm definitely doing this.
