This reminds me of when I was an apprentice on the jobsite. The mechanic would tell me what to do but never EVER let me look at the blueprints. That way I would never learn anything

That’s quite a list! Did they put what they found to be the issue in layman’s terms? Curious if it was a housing seam, or something else?

Could it possibly be, that they didn’t clean off prior staining/wetness? Probably not, but that would be my hope. I would slide under as best as I could, and wipe that spot as clean as possible, give it a bit, and then recheck that spot. Best of luck!

Strange? The invoice says they did a 27 mile test drive after changing rear main seal. how many more miles have you put on it up until you noticed the oil re-appear? Other than hair line crack of some sort could you possibly have a defective pcv valve that is not venting your crank case properly, causing it to push oil past your rear main seal?

This leak always looked like it originated near the drain plug. I don't think that's the lowest spot gravity-wise, so not sure why else oil would accumulate the way it does.
Rather than throw a new rear seal on, I think they should've gone for new oil pan and plug. |

This time the oil looks like it’s running down from above, if you look close by the drain plug it looks dry around it
