I've done 5 events with them so far, running on SC3s. But i have no baseline to put them up against as there the only pads i have tracked the car on. Works fine cold, Pedal did soften up slightly near end of sessions Autobahn South, 30 min sessions at high 90s temps, but nothing excessive. The 3 other tracks they stayed firm even in 100 degree heat. Running girodisc rotors and they seem to be holding up fine. I don't see me changing to another pad since i got no complaints about them. They are like a on/off switch till they break in.

Hi Matt,
I may have seen you out there. Was at Sonoma on a Thursday, Nov 7. I'm riding a Cadillac CTS V-Sport with SS 1LE brakes up front and ZLE brakes out back. I run 275/35/18 square and Kumho Ecsta V730. Killed my outer rears and got new shoes in the garage, waiting to be installed. I am considering getting the SR11s too. Just like @mbar said, my Carbotech XP12s have been in two track days and I think they are 2/3 gone. . . at leaast enough so that I am convinced they won't survive another full day. What kind of times are you turning in your car at Sonoma? Also, any preferred vendor to buy these? |

i was turning 1:58s on 295/315 conti ECFs with about 25 heat cycles on them. i probably had my sway bars set up a little stiff as well. Brakes definitely aren't holding me back i don't think though. although, i think running SR21s up front for a little more torque would be worth trying if your tires are up to it for turns 7 and 11. still though, i've got 6 or 7 days on these pads, and they came to me used at that. rotor wear is more than acceptable as well. KNS brakes .com is the best. Last edited by FactoryMatt; 11-22-2024 at 01:03 AM. Reason: KNS |

I bought mine from KNS Brakes. I talked with an employee on the phone to get his opinion of these brake pads and ask a few questions before ordering and he seemed knowledgeable.
The link below is for the regular SS 1LE brakes (not the larger pads, calipers, and rotors of the copper-free option [required by law for cars sold in California] aka BCD): https://www.knsbrakes.com/products/c...ms/series/1089 |

Well, a set of SR11 arrived. They look like art pieces compared to any other pad that I have seen, with the brushed metal, laser-etched backing plates and two individual pad sections being fully separated from each other.
Debating whether to just stick the carbotech's on and see how far they take me with these in the tool box to install when done, or avoid track wrenching and install them now. It is my inner miser vs. my inner wiser. Titanic battles between them. Buttonwillow Saturday is the plan for now. The rear pads, I keep installing the XP12 for the track as the street, soft, ceramic-blend pads would die a quick death. Wondering if using HP1000 used pads out back would be a better full time option that would reduce the need to swap and save time. |
