i swapped manifolds about 10 times when i had the camaro. it is by far the easiest manifold swap i have ever done on any domestic v8. just be careful with the vacuum lines. you need a solution for the vacuum port that points up to the driver side on the LT2 manifold.
You are correct. I forgot that I did the flex fuel sensor at the same time.

Don't get me wrong I'm not saying KaTech doesn't do good work, I just feel its too pricey for me.

And it turns out talking with JP he knows someone 5 minutes away who does FBO Tuning. Going to see if I can sweet talk him into installing the intake and TB along with the tuning. Even if I have to throw in a kegger.

What’s up Fluke, I think we talked on YT a lot of times. Look at the last few videos people posted, installing the intake manifold and throttle body is easy: it’s really 12-14 bolts total. 10 for the intake manifold and 4 for the throttle body. All of them between 10mm I believe. I can’t remember but it’s extremely easy. Order the manifold and throttle body for GPI and it comes with everything you need and bolt on ready as you walk thru the drop downs . It takes 1 hour literally, if you’re considering Katech I recommend doing the big jobs vs the FBO jobs, they can do it but you get more bang for your Buck with the higher stage packages because you get so much more IMHO. With that being said I did have the parts(LT2 intake, e85 sensor, ported TB and rotofab) installed before they started my build but I know my way around the car a little bit but going in it was working and I didn’t have any CEL lights. Was my car running to its fullest potential, probably not because I added it all with stock tune but once they’re done with it, it will be right. I don’t second guess them one bit. But I get your point on cost but there is multiple shops around or you can remote tune from a bunch of reputable shops as well. Vector Motorsports and CT performance is close to your region I believe. However like Katech_Mike said they don’t normally do customer supplied parts which they have a right to decline. Best of luck with your build too!

Or so it seems, be careful of this, watch for that.

:/

Taking things apart is easy, its putting them back together that scares the shit out of me
the stuff can only go back together 1 way. id take the offer from the dude wanting to help. if memory serves me the manifold bolts are 8mm and the tb are 10mm and i think the evap bolt is also 10. you'll need a small torx (i think) for the map sensor. been a minute since i swapped a manifold.

idk how gpi does their LT2 adaptation. also need the map extension harness. i did my own with parts from ace hardware, except the harness which i bought from mid michigan motorsports. took me about 30 minutes to modify the manifold and another 30 minutes to swap it. i had a catch can at the time so the vacuum port pointing up wasn't a big deal.

it is a noticeable difference and will require a tune to capitalize on. i wouldn't look for a lot, 1.5-2 mph at the most. you're in it right? figuring out how to record & flash tunes should be ez pz. buy the stuff and let gpi remote tune the car. honestly i think it would pick up 2 mph just from them retuning it, as is.

Oh hey man,

Ya it is what it is. I understand why they don't want to do it, but going to them for similar output levels just seems more than I may need / should spend. I wish I had more disposable income, but I just don't.

There he is! How’s the car coming along? It’s been a minute. I gave him some contacts out his way that can get him tuned as well. It’s getting closer to getting back out to Woodward etc.

He's a traitor, moved the AZ.
