Thanks for the responses guys. I'm not stupid and did my research, so I do understand that the new MRC in the Blackwing is better, it's just that I don't throw superlatives like "far superior" around so easily over minor improvements. Remember the "old" marketing materials for the 3.0 version touting 1000 road reads and ~100 adjustments made per second, so it isn't like gm went from zero to hero with this new implementation.
Also, MRC in tour mode on my SS isn't harsh no matter the road condition, maybe that's where some of this skepticism is coming from. Nevertheless, the Blackwing is on its way to becoming a legend, the C8 is also a great car, even though it isn't my cup of tea.

https://youtu.be/fOtzsKRDgCw https://youtu.be/7RsbgZMqDVU ------------------------------------------------- The 2022 CT5 Blackwing was tested by C&D 10 months ago at VIR in much better conditions. Official C&D Time: 2:49.37 https://youtu.be/hz8bl6XO0VI?t=324 All I am saying is it's hard to say the CT5 Blackwing is slightly faster around VIR than a ZL1 based on these variables. I would prefer a same day head to head. Either way for a Sedan its bonkers.

Track time nuances (a few seconds here or there) are kind of pointless because it has limited bearing on the street. The ZL1 1LE kills both of them because of tire and suspension improvements but the 1LE doesn't make much sense to me on the street unless you track regularly or happen to live on a mountain road
All 3 are basically the same car Only C8 I would consider is the Z06 and you can't get one, the standard C8 is underpowered |

Any color but red, or orange, I parked my Orange Z next to a orange C-8 and chevy dropped the ball on that orange, everyone standing there was saying why did chevy use that orange on the C-8

I’d do it for the look alone!! and even get the hard top convertible. Love my zl1 1le, I know it’s more powerful etc etc but that C8 is so damn eye appealing I’d get over it

No question the hard top convertible with the top down can look damn awesome. Having good looking wheels helps too.

Had both, still have the ZL1. I love the aggressive muscle car fun the ZL1 is while being totally competitive on the track. The C8 has better turn in due to the lighter nose that you will pick up on quickly in a back to back comparison. The C8 is much more sophisticated in experience. The view out the front is awesome, like a Ferrari I suppose. It also feels more like an exotic when you park it at the restaurant. People would stop and stare.
Acceleration with the C8 is more of a pin in your seat experience because of the traction and gearing. The torque of the LT4 in the ZL1 is more usable in the mid range. Oddly we missed the trunk and the back seats in the ZL1 more than I thought.

I would love to have both if I could. I would go for the ZO6 though.

MSRP for my Stingray convertible was $85K. I just configured a Z06 with similar options and the MSRP came out to $133,755. My C8 has the performance exhaust, mag ride shocks, front lift, two-tone GT2 seats with suede inserts. The only thing I would gain is 170 more horses, flat-plane crank, and center exit exhaust tips at a cost difference of $48,755. And of course, that assumes one can buy a Z06 at MSRP. So the question becomes whether or not the Z06 is worth $40 to $50K more than the Stingray. You're paying a pretty good premium for 170 extra horses and a flat-plane crank. A lot of folks will think it's worth it. For me, I'm not so sure.

Telling me to get a ZO6 is like waiting on the next mssion to mars. ZO6 allowcations are years away, plus 25-50k over MSRP is retarded.
I really dont see why anyone would even mention it.
