Yeah I remember our discussion a while back. Hit the plumbing shop and make some turndowns! Not sure if you've made the journey yet but The Podium Club at Atessa is very nice. Great place for you to wind out that Z and a much nicer facility than old Firebird.

I was on the fence about going to atessa but since there aren't many WHP races this year, I'll prob end up going just to get some seat time. |

I made some Laguna pipes and they work pretty good.

Since I run a large NA engine so I probably have an advantage with noise limitation because I dont have a that supercharger whine to contend with. You might try playing around with where you are exiting your exhaust. If you had tailpipes that turned down DIRECTLY to the ground just prior to the rear axle that might help keep at least some of the exhaust sound from directly exiting out the sides of the car. Since the DB meters are usually just off trackside this might help. For cosmetic purposes you could run electric cutouts that when closed would allow the exhaust to exit through the normal tailpipe setup thru the rear bumper. Ride Height probably can have an effect on DB emissions. In theory the LOWER you have your ride height, the LESS sound that will escape out the sides of the car. The KOOKS bullet style mufflers are DEFINITELY louder than a MAGNAFLOW type conventional muffer. Your post reminded me that when I was a kid, the air force and navy would fly planes supersonic over residential areas and it would rattle the dishes . This was the reality in the JFK days. A couple years later they decided that MAYBE was not such a great idea. I lived near the NAVAL AIR STATION in Grand Prairie Texas and CARSWELL Air Force Base which was a Strategic Air Command (SAC) base with a B52 bomber squadron. In schools at this time we would do Nuclear Blast alerts where we would go into the hallways and place our heads between our legs in a duck and cover drill. The joke later was that all we essentially were doing is kissing our asses goodbye!!!

I'm surprised you only got 90db. My zl1 stock was 101db. Now that I have kooks, no cats and borla, I'm sure I'm past 110db

Supercharged cars make MORE noise stock than non-supercharged cars. BORLA is louder than MOST exhaust systems I am aware of.
