Man, I feel like the odds are stacked against me on this adventure. I called on the 18th about a vert that showed on the lot. The salesman told me

"It is still available, it is kind of early for that Camaro. It has not been built yet, and there is no date posted by GM. So at this point, it's probably minimum 60 days before it arrives."

I called today an the next guy said yeah it is here. WTF.

Cannot do anything now until at least after the holiday. Family at my house and other stuff to take care of.

I feel like I am in the twilight zone.

Probably a blessing in disguise, no one will be looking for verts in January. I would be haggling a dealer out in the snow if I wanted a new vert. Especially after new car sales slow down when everyone else blows their financials over the holidays.

Not to mention that interest rates are going to continue to rise, putting even more pressure on car sales as it's going to price people out of certain vehicles that they could currently swing.

I got the Dodge Discount and 0% on the Challenger. So the current rates are close to "pricing me out" - not literally but personal limits.

So if the interest rates rise the dealers better start discounting. <-- I know they won't.

Dealerships don't sell on price - they sell on the "what do you want your payment to be" crap. High interest rates make for high payments. Period. The only way to combat that and actually get loans approved will be to discount.

If the dealers don't want to do it, the manufacturers will.

GM Financial has 2.89% right now. That is what I got on the LT1 Vert that I picked up last weekend. I think it is only good through the end of the month.

I have actually found dealers taking discounts. The issue is my current car is worth XXX, who knows what it will be worth in 4+ months. Less for sure, and everything points to interest rising, so who know what interest will be in 4+ months
