From driving a few rental Camaros before and after buying mine, I like the 2019+ infotainment style less than 2016-2018 but you probably get used to whichever one you have after a while.

2019+ pauses advertisements on Android Auto when using Pandora/Spotify when you tap the power button to mute. The older version lets them keep playing silently like they should.

A minor change I noticed was that the OnStar "shark fin" roof antenna went from black matte plastic finish to one painted body color in the 2016 to 2017 change.

My 16 had a body color "shark fin" roof antenna.

I think it's an LT vs SS rather than a model year difference. My 2018 2LT had a matte black sharkfin, whereas my current 2SS has the body color gloss one.

Well... I suspect that was correcting the way it should work, regardless of how annoying the ads are.

There is a separate pause button on screen. I see no reason for the mute button to pause playback.

I’d put it to the RS package, it added the body colored antenna

Its an ad for an ad supported service; how does the app on your phone work when its just your phone?

Ads and songs keep playing when I am listening through the phone's built-in speakers and turn the volume all of the way down. It doesn't have a mute button.

Ads on Pandora/Spotify on my Roku TV also continue playing when I press the mute button on the included remote.

Pausing audio playback when muted is nonstandard regardless of whether or not you are using an ad supported service.
