Following up on the previous question about ordering from Joe/Team Becky - are there any threads around that give info about ordering/buying from out of state? It sounds to me like I'd be paying sales tax twice which is far from ideal, but I have no experience in doing it this way to know if that's correct or not. Would also be good to understand shipping costs. I know Joe and company are busy enough as it is, so I'd prefer to read up on it somewhere before/instead of bothering them with individual questions.
I'm asking because I really feel like I'm getting the runaround from my local dealer and now I feel like cancelling w/ them and looking elsewhere, and have no relationship with any Chevrolet dealer here in Texas. I asked my sales rep for an update yesterday and he told me he needed to rebuild it in Workbench because it was in as a 2021 and needed to be redone as a 2022. This made NO sense to me at all. The order was agreed to on 8/14 and I was told at that point it was a 2022 - this morning I checked the Workbench printout that I was given and sure enough, it says "2022" right on it. I called him out on it and asked if it was ever actually submitted as a provisional order. I'm betting it hasn't, and that's why he's been refusing to give me an order number. So that's a complete waste of two weeks of my time. Still waiting for him to respond to my text. Figure I'll give him til this afternoon before I call and ask to speak to a sales manager instead.

As far as your order goes, as I have posted on a couple of previous threads, it literally takes less than 5 minutes for the dealer to order your car and hand you the paperwork with a workbench order number on it. If the dealer has no allocation, it will be at event code 1100. If your dealer has an allocation, it should go straight to event code 2000, that's how mine went in. I would be questioning your dealer strongly if they have not provided you with a workbench order number that shows an event code. I hope this helps. Good luck! |

It does help, and it's appreciated. Info on this forum has helped and is why I keep asking him for the order number, because if they did what they told me they've done, then there is an order number and it's in 1100 status. I don't know why they play games like this, especially since I've repeatedly told them that I understand there's a wait on the build and just wanted to get it started ASAP - they know I'm not expecting a car next week. Maybe that's where i made my mistake, by removing any sense of urgency from them so they just don't give a damn.
I've been trying to balance being persistent with this guy without flat out annoying him to the point where he doesn't want to help me at all, but this latest comment from him is complete BS. Time to start being annoying and escalating up the chain of command.
