UPDATE: good news, the bolt wasn't cross threaded. Just had way too much thread lock on it.

The fix: Used penetrating lube. Let sit for 5 mins. Buddy hammered in a socket to flatten the sides of the bolt. Then used vice grips to clamp the bolt and wrench on the vice grips to turn it with me outside the car holding the wheel steady so it doesn't turn. Still could barely budge the bolt. Second round of penetrating lube. Let sit for 10 mins. Same method. This time he worked the bolt back in a quarter turn and back out a few times and then it started to budge and eventually loosen up. He said way too much thread lock on the bolt. Cleaned up the threads and popped in the new bolt and steering wheel.

Very happy with the carbon steering wheel. But its not quite centered at 12 o'clock. Buddy says getting an alignment which I was going to get on Saturday anyway will fix it.

Great to hear

You may just need a tie rod adjustment if the car tracks straight and the only problem is that the wheel isn't 100% centered.

Yep. Taking it in to the dealer this Saturday to have the front struts replaced under warranty for the clunking noise. They will have to do an alignment so ill let the tech know about the steering wheel.

As always thank you everyone for all your advice and input.
