Yes I'm still pissed I can't buy a new Trans AM :-)

If you liked it as a trans am, you'd be fine with it as a camaro. It's not like there was much difference between the two cars besides pontiac's love of plastic body parts.

You never owned a Trans AM have you.....

That's like making classic characters white where they were black or black where they were white to be politically correct.

Real men do not stand for such nonsense.

No it would be more like making classic characters wear a wig, some glasses, a bunch of necklaces and bracelets (think Capt Jack Sparrow level of accessories) when they didn't.

That's a trans am vs what used to be Z28/Irocs

Pontiacs were plastic clad-happy versions of the same cars gm builds in other brands, with the transam/firebird being the camaro's twin.

The ‘82 Trans Am had lines without the cladding no Camaro ever had. Not sure who your eye doctor is but you need a new one. I love my Camaro as much as anyone on this forum but KITT should NEVER be a Camaro!

As I put forward the C8 Corvette that’s the only modern car worthy of portraying KITT.

It’s either the C8 or ‘82 Trans Am.

I had an 87 Trans Am GTA with the digital dash and every option available that year.. My buddy had an IROC and couldn't believe the difference...He said "I feel like I bought the generic model after riding in that car".. And don't forget, the 4th gen firebird and camaro were actually a pontiac designed vehicle{Banshee} for the new design..So the "camaro's twin" isn't the best analogy across the board..

GM would stupid not to get that product placement. Those goofy Transformers movies went a long way.

With James Wan as a possible director, it could be a big movie. Chevy already teased an electric Camaro, would be a perfect chance to generate Hype for a nextgen Camaro concept. But I honestly doubt Chevy would invest money in the Camaro here like they did back then to place their car in Five O or Transformers.

Would be no surprise to me if Ford or Dodge are keeping up their investments to be in popular media and the result might be a 2022 Mustang Gen 7 be the star of the movie.

Well... you gotta pay for that (and probably a lot in this case). And there are plenty of complaints here about lack of GM advertising. So guess where this is going.

the old 3rd gen fbody was picked because it looked futuristic.

corvette really is probably the clearest choice in current non-exotic cars.

I just think the vette is too expensive looking ...and less volume sales to make much sense to be a show runner.

Only way I will watch it anyway is if it stars David Hasselhoff in a scene where he's lying on the floor drunk eating out of a styrofoam container while being bitched out by his daughter.

If Kitt was a C8, I wonder what it would look like in 'Super Pursuit Mode' lol

Remember Knight Rider 2000 TV movie when KITT was in a 57 Chevy then in some futuristic FWD concept car, nasty...lol

Expensive looking???? What???? KITT was originally a million dollar car built by that crack engineer Bonnie at the Foundation for Law and Government. The '82 Trans Am was perfect for the lines and style, not the price. Under the premise of the show the base price of KITT is a non-factor when it cost a million to build.

The C8 is perfect for the lines, not the price. The Camaro HAS no lines compared to a C8. Fact.

Good Lord man, what kinds of drugs do you take???
