Plus with enough HP you can spin all 4, which can also be fun.

And for reference I can spin the tires on my LaCrossse which is not fun.

Yeh doing a front end FiSH Tail is not exactly fun. Looks silly too.

The engine options to me are irrelevant in this lineup. It’s the AWD that has my attention. I’d be all over that and might even purchase another Camaro if that were the case.

Have to admit- the turbo 4 hybrid does seem interesting- a combination of great performance with 0-60 in 3.9 seconds and great gas mileage. And it's at least not fully electric.

I woulnd't take the powertrains for granted, but at least it's a hint that Gen 7 is still in development.

If Chevy gives the option to buy a gas engine, I’d go with one of those with AWD. That would likely be our last opportunity to buy an ICE so I’d take the visceral experience one last time.

I’ve bought new in gen4 (1), gen5 (1) and gen6 (2) with a new GTO between gen4 - 5 and a new Monte SS before all those. I am the traditional buyer demographic.

If Camaro goes 100% BEV, I’ll probably get back into classic muscle cars to get the visceral that is more important than mere acceleration. Old and slow in a 61 Bubble top Impala SS, 4-speed just might do it.

I think the 5.5 is what the C8R will run in IMSA and FIA

I'm already there LOL. Have been lusting over a 67-68 Fastback Mustang for a while now. Cars back then are works of art, inside and out they are beautiful!

It’s seriously on my mind. Ball is in Chevy’s court. Give me reason to buy a new Camaro or Chevelle/Monte SS ...and I will!

Regardless, that Bubble Top SS will be my retirement gift in 11 years. If cars become appliances, I’ll do it sooner

I'd go all electric. If i would actually own the car and not simply be a user like i am with a cellphone.

I'm really over the amount we're being held hostage over who controls what in a car that i'm supposedly buying. When everything is interdependent on everything else and it's all vin encoded using proprietary software and communication methods that only they have .... you might as well just lease or buy used and avoid the year 1 depreciation at least.

I dont see that getting any better regardless of the engine platform. It makes too much financial sense for them to not continue turning the car into a subscription service you'll end up having to pay them forever for or at the very least, ensure that you can't keep it running beyond their designated lifetime without basically gutting it. And there's nobody willing in the government to force them to adopt open standards that would allow third parties to create replacement/upgrade options that owners could install or have installed at their will.

buying old may be the option to go with ...but not to avoid electric motors ....but rather to avoid having every aspect of the car's function out of your (or any interested 3rd parties) ability to maintain or change if you cared about having the car around for more than 10 years.

Interesting to see the AWD options, maybe they want people in cold states to consider the car as well? If that is the case the Camaro may become larger and have taller windows to meet consumer demands.

I think they would have to introduce an EV option alongside the other options to compete with the Mustang. And I'd assume axe that hybrid option because it will make the entry level price too high for those who just want to get in a Camaro.

Edit:

Not sure if Mustang is bringing an EV coupe or if it is an hybrid ecoboost that is due for 2021 I believe.

When I see AWD listed as a possibility, I assume they mean as part of an EV/hybrid system, it seems unlikely it would be driven by the IC engine.
