I have a hard time finding 0w-40 Mobil 1 and its expensive. I run Valvoline MST 5W-40 both for street and track use. It's an optional oil in the manual and is dexos 2. In my experience its held up pretty well to track use. However, I don't have any cold start worries here.

For us folks in the warm south I think we’ll be ok with a Dexos approved oil and a good filter. I have a hard time personally going over 3k plus miles on the same oil. Just an OCD thing. With that being said, Pennzoil Platinum(or synthetic Dexos approved Costco oil) and a good filter(Wix) will do the job.
