You never know. We've already seen the design grow on some people, and I was very surprised to experience how different it seemed in person. Standing right next to the '19 SS it really looks pretty sharp. Its definitely a more "in-person" design. You kinda have to be right next to it, to understand it. I'm not even sure the change to body color center bar was necessary. On 1LEs I think the black looks better, actually.

Cars look lowered. Look how low the back end is on the White SS.

Fine tuned the SS in 19 with the hood and fixed the bowtie in 20. Like the looks of the taller rear spoiler too, mission accomplished.

Why not ? Just remember that the 63 split window was not received well either and lead to its change. The 2019 Camaros may end up being the most collectible of the 6 gens . So far they have the most going for them .

This has made the value of my 2017 2SS increase. Thanks, GM!

I am OK with everything on the 2020, though. I appreciate that they've taken immediate feedback from the community and went back to implement fast changes. I can assure you, this is NOT easy in the automotive sector. I know how difficult those discussions must have been and I'm glad I did not have to be a part of it. Team Camaro deserves our respect for pushing this through for 2020.

I'm glad someone else noticed that. It's clearly a parts catalog showcase and not a new or improved version of the 1LE.

I'm going to say the fact 2018's are still on the lots being sold with deep discounts is going to hurt your 2017's value more than them refreshing the 2020's...

It's really funny to see all these people who dislike the 2019's. Oddly, they usually own 2016-2018's. This happens with almost every other car when there is a refresh. Current owners dislike them, and new owners love them. The same way I like my 2019's front end a little (but only on the 1LE's. I think the regular SS's look meh) better than the 2020's.

Discounts on leftover stock are typical with every model year, though.

Well, some of us did have a choice, I could've waited just a little with placing my order, but as soon as I saw the first shots of the new SS fascia, I knew there was no way I can look at that front end every day. Since then I've seen several in person, and haven't been able to warm up to it at all.

Many, and most of all 2019 owners, dismiss this as mere sour grapes and whining of disgruntled pre-refresh buyers. Let me try to explain why it isn't necessarily so.

Design is mostly subjective, yet there are clear guidelines that, when violated, throw off the overall look. The 2019 front fascia---and the taillights even more so---does not fit the rest of the body design. The fangs have a tacked on feel, its curves are ill matched to the body, and the blacked out middle section with the fangs have an unhealthy gaping feel.

The taillights pander to the past with their 4 individual round(ed rectangle) sections, but for that to look as good as they do on the 5th gen pre-refresh, more rear bumper changes would've been required, the desire to cheap out is obvious in how the taillight housing remains the same. Yes, the LED DRL and bulb strips within the LED headlight are more modern, but the headlights lost their distinctiveness. In fact, the entire 2019 front end look is much softer and closer to the base Charger than Chevy would care to admit.

With all that said, of course some do love the new design, the new infotainment software is indeed pretty nice and so is the rear camera mirror. The upgrades did come at a price, though, homelink was culled, the rearview mirror is no longer auto-dimming (and one's eyes take a beating when constantly having to adapt to an electronic screen, then to the road, then back, ad nauseam), and some paint color and wheel choices were also eliminated.

On that note, it would be very enlightening to have an actual glimpse into the refresh design process, the motivation, the ideas and the constraints. My feeling (and not knowledge, lacking all this information) is that they simply tried to pull off a minimal cost facelift to marginally improve sales. The changes, however, did not eliminate any of the actual competitive disadvantages such as the high beltline/short windows, rear seat legroom/headroom, trunk opening size and the higher price.

At least the 2020 model tackles this last item on the list with the LT1 trim (and then talk about confusing your prospects with yet another reused acronym instead of a proper name like Hellcat or Cayenne, Panther or Scorpio or whatever).

Trust me, I would be happier if I liked the 2019 changes, because after all, no car can be kept alive forever and it'd be reassuring to know there are upgrades waiting in the wings---but say if I totaled her today and got a full insurance refund, I would not buy a 2019+ Camaro. If the 7th gen does not deviate from this design direction, I'll look elsewhere.

It's all personal preference. When the 6th gens came out, a lot of 5th gen fans had negative things to say about it. But now, most accept the 6th gen as looking a bit better. It's just how it works.

When I first was looking at getting a new car, I did not like the refresh much at all. Until I saw it in person, on a 1LE. After seeing it in that trim, I liked it a lot. On a regular SS, it just did nothing for me. I'm not sure why, but the 1LE has a meaner look to it. Maybe it's the splitter, maybe its the black hood to tie in the grill? Who knows, but I liked it. I also get a lot of people who stopped me at a gas station or at cars and coffee who said seeing it in person made it look 100x better.

But I am sure there are people who hate it as well
