I agree with teapot. I think the my money is better spent on a charity for in need children instead of a charity for an adult for a luxury item.

Also i think it is kind of biased to people who already own one. I could understand if it was open to everyone. The only other way i would even consider this if i was able to win and use the money to get a performance upgrade.

Not be a jerk, but i have one. What do i care if you get one.

I would definitely donate for the children though.

Problem is, not all 20,000 members are here every month. Or every year for that matter. It would be extremely hard to get a hold of all of them to participate in the program. Second, selection of the winner....I'm not even gonna touch that one, as I don't even have a car myself. Love the idea though. Because I'm one of those trying my best to save, but coming up short.

Raising money for Stephanie would be a much more worthwhile cause and I would definitely contribute. I'd pay her father directly with no strings attached. I'd also have the comfort of knowing it isn't paying for administation fees or other nonsense some charities divide up the money for other than the actual cause.

For something like a lottery here, a mod would have to step in and create solid guidelines and reassurances that our money is going for somebody who does not own a Camaro and a gift card idea is great as well that could be made available for all (even those that own Camaros).

who is stephanie, someone homeless, someone sick, if that person really needs the money we could do like a 50/50, give stephanie 50 and 50 go towards a gift card to a vendor here. that sounds pretty cool.

Did I win?

Seriously, though - I think this is a bad idea. As much as I want a camaro, I think everybody should save up for it themselves.

It's not that I can't afford to give a dollar but I think their are worthier causes. The Camaro is a want, not a need. If I couldn't afford it I wouldn't buy it, and besides it would not be as sweet if you didn't have to earn it yourself.

Seems like a cool idea. However, the poll seems to say otherwise...
