Henry Ford was a known Anti-Semite and before the war supported Nazi Germany.
Should no-one ever buy or drive a Ford product? This anti-Koresh's car mentality is the same cancel-culture train of thought that will end our Constitution, Bill of Rights and freedoms because George Washington was once a slave owner. Learn from the past, but don't destroy the present to avenge old wrongs. |

'Cancel culture' is as American as apple pie, though. The only difference today is that we've come up with a snazzy term for it. |

And let's not forget Mitsubishi and all the lovely things they did in 1941.

My lifelong baseball team the Indians succumbed to this nonsense, and I'm pretty g-d pi**ed about it. We all are in Cleveland. So I know all about the cancel culture and f'g hate it with a passion. But don't ever confuse Chief Wahoo, or the Indians, or Dr. Seuss, or Henry Ford being an anti-Semite, for the evil incarnates of Goering and Koresh. |

Yes and no. We can't apply stipulations to things based off our individual wants or needs. The Indians..example A. There ARE other baseball teams that you could follow, so why the big deal? A car happened to be owned by an infamous man, just like that team happened to hold a name with negative associations (by some). Another example, not to bring race into this... but what about some of these southern mansions that were built/owned by men (/families) who owned/killed how many hundreds of people (slaves)? Should those properties be demolished without a second thought? In some instances, the Koresh history would seem quite piddly in comparison. I'm not trying to argue with anyone specifically, but things become complicated rather quickly when making these types of decisions. |
