Saw one minor accident where a bike went in the ditch on the mountain side but everyone was ok. Got caught behind some pokey trikes (the 2nd one couldn't stay in his lane) the entire way down the Tail and met up with Driski at 11:15 at the Tapoco Lodge. Had some lunch and discussed the options between the Dragon, Foothills, Devil's Triangle, and Skyway. Given proximity, and that he's already hit Moonshiner, we hit the dragon twice and then we'd do Skyway.

We made a run up the dragon to the turn around at the start before the bridge. Discussed some stuff than tore back down. Lost Driski somewhere on that run and got back to Deal's Gap to wait up, talked to some bikers, watered, fuelled. Jumped back on the road and made the trip down to the Skyway for some more reserved cruising. Caught some rain at the higher elevation so had to pause for a moment so he could put the top up. Took a couple pics, finished off the skyway, refueled and cruised through to Maryville for some dinner and parted ways.

Good to meet ya Shaun, thanks for lunch & dinner and hope ya enjoyed the tour!

Couple of the proofs I'm gonna buy; killboy and us129photos. 129 slayer has a decent one or two as well
Yup, got dropped hard on that last run. Not the cars fault, performed beyond my expectations. Once in performance mode the revs stayed high, acceleration was quick, and downshifts were aggressive. Think I relied on the brakes far to much to make up for my lack of driving ability. Ultimately they (the brakes) began to fade.

I had a F'n blast Jason! Never in my life have I ever done anything remotely like that. I would never have driven the Dragon that aggressively without having you set the pace and show me the line. I can't thank you enough for your hospitality and providing me with an extraordinary experience I will likely never forget.

Okay, I think my lack of driving experience has bit me again. After driving the Dragon I was feeling a slight bump that i suspected was a tire issue. I thought that it might be tire failure, manufacturer defect. Turns out it is a flat spot on one if the front tires (not covered under warranty). Must have slid into a corner somehow causing a slight flat spot. Still say it was worth it. The Dragon is AWESOME and I would do it again.

Just ran it my self, was worried was down pouring on my way there. Cleared up once I arrived. I tryd to give motorcycles plenty of room, didn't want to scare anyone. Luckily there are plenty of spots for them to pull off and let me by. Grabbing some lunch and then heading back and then finding a place to crash, left NY at like 5 last night drove to Cincinnati and rested and then got up at 8 to drive here.

A lot of people get royally pissed at them but still have to remember it's a public road and pulling off is a courtesy not a requirement. In the rain on those tires would give me the shakes. lol. I've done it in the rain in my IROC but that was pretty uneventful.

Check out the Historic Tapoco Lodge for a bite if you're looking for some nice scenery along the river. 5 min South of the Dragon give or take.

I had no issues with any one, like I said I try to give them plenty of room in front of me, and gave a kind wave or beepbeep when they pulled over and I went around. I couldn't see a reason to get upset at someone over something so trivial. I did the tail and the cherohala skyway. Both were very fun. Started pouring again on the skyway, no issues, but then again I dont drive like a madman and was using manual mode. I felt the car was handling very well. I think only on one turn I got a little loose on the tail, but I think I just hit it a bit too hard.

I have been debating on staying in the area, but I think I'm gonna start heading back north and stop at the rock and roll hall of fame before heading home. Can't find anything online in this area I would like to do other than some more roads, but it's getting dark so that would have to be tomorrow either way. I have been to Nashville and the JD distillery before other wise I would head there, also have done Louisville in KY.

Yeah 28 is also a great road. The rockslide ar Rainbow Falls was just fixed and the road was reopened a few months ago, was closed for a while.
