Chevys have come a long way though and the 6th gen materials and quality are much much better than previously.

I love my '18 1SS 1LE, and is a fantastic performance car which is why I bought one. That said, it doesnt feel that fast to me. Sure, it handles like a super car, but it really isn't that fast, or more accurately, it doesnt feel that fast to me. It feels heavy and a bit under powered despite the way it handles. It is a fairly heavy car, so kudos to the Engineers for designing it to handle the way it does despite the heft.

I've had and built some fast cars, so my idea of speed may be different. I just thought that 455hp and the accompanying torque would feel quicker off the line. I've had cars with 360 hp or less that felt quicker. Again, all relative because those were lighter cars.

Maybe I need a ZL1!

Overall, it's a great car. Not the fastest, not the highest quality, not the best looking, but an excellent overall package especially when the value per dollar is factored in.

You just need a blower to change that perceptionNeighbor has a 2.9l Edelbrock on his 5th gen, and it's insanely fast despite the extra weight compared to the 6th gen.

Guys, this is my 1000th post, and I thought what could be a better way to spend it than to reiterate how amazed I still am by this car. Every time I fire up the engine and drive away, even when just for a short trip, it's therapy. The power, handling, ride, exterior, interior, all top notch, especially for this price. I thank God for being able to buy this beauty anew, and am super glad to be around to enjoy the experience.

The pictures are "then" and "now" shots from the day I took delivery to what she is looking like today, inside and out.

Congratulations!
The Camaro is the nicest car we've ever had - and we've had a few - and easily the fastest and most fun to drive. We are also very blessed. Enjoy!

I must say I love this car too. Road trips are very comfortable. Performance and handling are excellent. I look forward to driving it everyday. I always go the long way when running errands.

I do not have any squeaks, rattles or weird noises.

When I first purchased the vehicle I did have a few issues...

1. the display screen went haywire. started changing stations, language all by itself. The fix was to simply disconnect the negative battery cable for 15 mins. That was 2 years ago. The problem has never returned.

2. when shifting from 1st-2nd it sometimes felt like I got rear-ended it jerked so bad. That went away by itself. 1st-2nd has always been little quirky. But now it's fine...especially after the tune.

3. Still have the read-end groan on cold mornings for the first 2 turns or so. I can live with that.

I may only have the V6 but it's mine and I get the same silly grin on my face every time I start it up. no rattles, tight steering and sounds pretty good for a V6...I love it..also drive it to work a few times a week which is a 110 mile round trip..which is why I went with the V6...getting around 35+ MPG.

No car is perfect and I still LOVE the 6th Gen and drive it anytime I get a chance.

Thank you GM for building this car
Regarding brake dust. Replace pads with Powerstop. Virtually eliminated the dusting. Absolutely one of the best mods I've made to the car.

Yeah, I also complain sometimes about this and that, there are some minor flaws here and there, thin paint and little space and kiddie back bench yada yada, but once you get into the seat, strap yourself in and the V8 rumbles to life, once you take the first few turns, none of that matters anymore. Even the A8 is gradually getting better, it seems to have learnt my preferred shift patterns and does what I would with the stick, only faster. I am very grateful to the Camaro team for this wonderful machine.

Best of all, I don't even have FI yet, wonder how much more exhilarating it will get after that, heh.

Mmm Hmmm

My car has 23k miles...not one rattle. My 5th Gen had almost 60k miles when I traded it in...not one rattle. You got a lemon.

I must have got a good one. No squeaks, groans, rattles.
One thing, the AFM sorta is stupid. Going back & forth in city driving, the exhaust is continually going back & forth from loud, to relatively quiet.

otherwise, a fantastic car! Puts a smile on my face every time.
