You said it ChevyRules! I can't understand it either but to each his own! I use Shell V-Power in my 2SS almost all the time. I had to use 87 in it one time because I was about to run out and that's all the Money Back had so I put in a few gallons. Like was said it had decreased performance and I had a slight valve ping on acceleration. A day later put 93 in it and no issues.

94 for me only. Found at most Petro Canada stations. Formerly only available at Sunoco stations. I paid 1.61/liter 2 days ago. Just to put it in perspective, 87 is 1.34/liter so quite a bit more. Don't care though its not my daily but also use it in my daily. Am I an idiot? Yes probably but I feel its worth it.

Yes... it runs A LOT better, when comparing the same octane levels.

From what I'm told, they introduced e10 because they needed to add ethanol to the gas to get the octane levels back up from adding detergents and other non performance additives. Since the additives lowered the octane rating and ethanol has a high octane rating (which is why everyone likes to run it), it boosted the octane levels back up fairly inexpensively.

Which gave ethanol a bad rep because everyone noticed that stuff ran worse with e10 gas, compared to ethanol free gas, and people automatically assume it's the ethanol

ran worse because of the water it absorbs correct? in unsealed systems like mowers and boats. When my dad was putting e10 in his mower and generator. I would have to go over and drain the float bowls. they would be full of water. Now he can get strait 91 non ethanol and hasnt had a problem scene. My brother runs E85 in his 09 Tahoe and says it runs better then 93. He is black bear tuned for 93 with headers and flex fuel
