It was said in another thread that pre-pricing for the glass roof is 9k plus shipping or 10k installed...this included new headliner pieces as well. The finished version was said to have the edges or frame done as vacuumed carbon fiber, a little different than the prototype at SEMA.

Not sure what final pricing will be like, but I find the glass roof extremely tempting.

It is also said to be stiffer than stock and only weigh a few pounds more than stock (like less than 5 lbs diff.)

That's really expensive, but it's the coolest interior mod I've ever seen, personally.

I'd like to see GM offer a glass roof option!

Hey everyone! Just saw this thread, anytime you see this name post it's me, Mark, typing lol.

One thing I want to reiterate is we were not trying to copy a Third Gen. We wanted to imagine a world where the Race Series never went away and Chevrolet continued making the cars.

That's why the ground effects were 1991-1992 style... If GM didn't lose the name mid model year (1990) guess what GFX the IROC would have had... Those.

Moving forward we tried to think what basic elements of the car would have remained intact after almost 30 years of evolving WITH the Camaro.

We felt hood louvers of some sort, wheels, spoiler, etc... Then we focused on the race side. If GM were to participate in a race series, what car styling would they use? Easy answer just look at what's going on in NASCAR... Hence using ZL1 styling as our base.

You get the idea. We wanted to design a new Camaro only based on Camaro. Glass on the hood obviously was done on the Vette, for us however, it was a homage to one of the old Dick Harrell cars.

We've been purposefully aloof on buying details. The response and warm welcome we got was BEYOND EXPECTATION causing us to hold off on announcing sales.

Our original intentions of just making these ourselves as coach bodies and trying to sell ourselves were put on pause as things that were beyond our wildest dreams started happening the second the car hit SEMA.

I'm literally just rambling as I am chomping at the bit to tell you what's happening but I can't until the ink is signed. I will say you will buy these cars through, WORST CASE, some selected Chevrolet Dealers... BEST CASE, you can walk into any Chevrolet Dealership in the world and order one.

GM IS NOT OFFERING TO SELL THE CAR. It's just a partnership we're working on that has that much pull and influence.

We're already planning for SEMA 2018 (as we're also already starting production on three cars for customers already and also in the middle of two large partnership deals) and if what we're planning for that goes through (and it seems to be) I think we will be doing Camaro History an amazing service with our 2018 build.

Man... I want to say so much but I can't lol... I'll say this. We expected backlash but our designer Albert's work has amazed all the right people and we're getting open door blessings by a lot of important people in the industry.

Like the car or not, I love everything Camaro and my designer really knows what he's doing... Those two forces joined together to execute a build that was built BY A CAMARO LOVER (not a random company sticking the same hoods on everything with no interest in the car's design history) and a TOP DESIGNER (he's worked with Foose, Fusion, 5-Axis, etc...) that took all the Camaro ideas swirling in my head and made them make sense in design AND FUNCTION.

We did this in about 3 months and what you see is NOT bondo and bubble gum. It's OUT OF THE MOLD pieces bolted on to the car and, for the quarters, grafted in BUT at the FACTORY WELD POINTS... Long story short, this car isn't a concept, it's a PR-1 meaning it is put together the same as the production cars, it is just the first to get the pieces. It's not a body kit, it's literally re-bodied.

All that being said, once again, we did this in 3 months. Wait until you see what we do with a full year. This car will be in production/dealerships January 1st. At that point there will also be many different editions of it for various partnerships.

While we are overseeing that, we will be working on another revival but one we felt really needs to happen out of a love for the history of Camaro. It's a passion project as well that we feel we can be the ones to steer history back on course.

You guessed it... the BERLINETTA!!!!

Just kidding, you'll never guess it in a million years, mostly because of how we're doing it, but once we do it... I believe your response will be...

Oh, and we never had a sketch lol. I told Albert the ideas in my head and his hands just started shaping them into something better lol.

Our renderings didn't start until we had the car already shaped lol!

If you think about it $10k for this type of job is not bad at all. We have a shop just north of Gainesville that does modifications turning hard tops into convertibles and they are offering convertible conversions on 2010 Camaros for $20k+. So this is right in line for a job like this, my hats off to Mark for bring his dream to life we all dream of doing these things and he over the years has stepped up and done some really cool things for Camaro owners. He offered stuff for the 4th Gen's nobody would offer yet he did it over and over again.

Great job Mark love your vision and passion for the Camaro I will be adding your ZL1 hood very soon

3 months to have this done, and the parts coming out of molds is really amazing. I work in Mfg. Operations, and often get clients with a napkin sketch type concept and it typically takes 6 to 9 months or longer.

Thanks guys! $10k is what we're doing the first few for to do install videos and figure out what are actual costs are so we'll know what to actually charge (10% over parts and labor will be our profit margins).

Still, it will be cheaper than the $60k+ we paid to get it on our car lol.

Oh yes, I don't think it's expensive for what it is, just for any mod, cosmetic or otherwise. It's gorgeous, and I'd have it if it were within my budget!
