I have been working to much, and need to finish up my tune with Tim, even partial tune and FBO, the car is a beast. I'm on my third set of rear tires at 13,500 miles... Drive like I stole it every single day.

Fraxum, it has been a while since I ran 555R, please tell me about how they perform cold vs mild heatup, vs full strip type burnouts... 1/10 I got more than that with the new pilot 4s...

nitto 555r is the worst drag radial you can waste money on imo,you want a real drag radial run a mickey thompson, the street ss is good or if you want a mostly track tire use the et,the 555r is ok for street use,but it requires a huge burnout to stick on a track, and then half the time it still doesnt hook, and it isnt a consistent tire not when i used to run them anyways.

Nitto NT05R is a much better choice than the 555R

Don't buy a NT555R even if they're a dollar a piece. Probably the worst tire to use on a daily driven car and the performance of it on the track after a huge burn out is barely any good. Maybe the NT01r might be good, but I've never used that one.

from what ive seen the nt05r is better than the 555r,but ive still heard they have the issue of hardening up and not hooking after just a couple months of use.

I might need your help and advice. AutoX season is finishing up my kids raced two Hondas. We probably have some time to drag race. Even the oldlady, who used to drag my LS1 has asked about how hard it is to drive my SS... says she is thinking about going back to racing

I will GTech my PS4 tires and see how good they are 0-60 where most of my street fighting is done. The ability to use WOT in 1st is now is a real pleasure. I've backroaded the PS4 (not autoX) and they have just plain MORE stick than the OEM, I can apply throttle much sooner on turn exit, the car is much better in any street condition, so it is time to probably start looking at a 1/4 mile setup that I'd change at the tracks... woops my track is mainly 1/8 mile... worst track in the country, San Antonio and Houston have nice strips.... not Austin.

I have the A8 and the 555R's hooked fine for me. 3 sec burnout and I was GTG. But then again, the best DA I can find is 2900 in Vegas. My local track is usually at least 6000 DA, so I'm way down on power compared to most of you guys.

Interestingly Ted points out the delta gains (largest difference) which may not be at the peak. There should also be some sort of curve analysis where losses are also taken into account as well as gains to give you a full performance index. The MSD looses quite a bit in the lower rpm but gains up top. Peak gains can be misleading

These mods plus DRs were good for a .5 second ET improvement. I still don't know how my car will run now with porting and E85, but it is getting pretty easy to run in the 11s with my M6 now in DA +1000 and lower. And trap around 120.

Regarding the MSD IM, from Ryne himself "You need to tune with the msd manifold to benefit from its potential. The cam phasing needs to be adjusted or that will happen. Once tuned properly it's a gain across the board. Peak gain is about 20whp."

A few folks mentioning of loss in torque in the lower RPM band.. But with a Cunningham tune it doesn't happen.

interesting, do you have a before / after tune with the MSD on? I have an unported MSD.

Then these guys are the 1st im hearing about gains "across the board". every single dyno out there with this MSD takes a hit in TRQ thru the middle

my tuner said hes done multiple cars with the msd intake and sees no torque loss with his tune, this is the same guy who commended me on not ruining his day with a useless ported tb and ported stock intake,or overly sized heat soaking garbage cai for my current mod level ,they currently have the quickest zl1 camaro, and held the quickest ss 6g title for a short time before fireball took it,so i dont disregard anything he says.

Good numbers. Have you made it to the track with your mods? Curious to see what it runs.
