I'm just answering the question.

actually, my brain read it correctly, so...
but no, I don't have a Procharged, but a Vortech, and I'm happy with it. It's small but gives good power.

I've got one. P1SC with Stage 2 IC and Race bypass.

When I had it dynoed it was 90 degrees and hitting about 6.5lbs @ redline. I'm expecting I might see a little higher though, Maybe 7 possible when the cooler weather ever gets here.

Oh it's pretty amazing. Cold start up the first thing you hear after the NPP fires up is the Bypass valve lets a big gush of air out. I have to admit it sounds pretty menacing for the first 10 seconds. As it idles down to normal you no longer hear the bypass at idle but just that blower whistle. Not as loud as a straight cut headunit though but just the right amount. Put it this way. My wife who's oblivious to car stuff rode with me recently and said. "What is that whistling sound". lol.
The bypass valve is louder than the NPP exhaust when you get near 3k RPM but whats cool though is it goes silent when you make even the slightest amount of boost and then you shift and hear the bypass make a pretty nice gush similar to a blow off valve on a turbo car.. My IAT's with my setup is usually 7 to 10 degrees over ambient and one time as low as only 5 degrees over. So the Stage 2 IC is awesome. It will drop down pretty quickly too after a few spirited pulls. At first I wasn't too crazy about how loud the bypass is but it's definitely grown on me. I was going to replace the bypass with an enclosed version but those are a tad bit taller and wouldn't fit without having to trim some of the fascia. I decided just to stay with the open version.

Procharger D1, helical gears, regular bypass valve. I live in Car****ifornia so I'm running straight meth.
D1 on 4.25 pulley i put down 629 on a dynojet. Some friends who dyno'd here went to a few other places and noted that it seems like they see about 30whp more? But we all know how that story goes. Dyno is just a tool not a 1:1 benchmark. That being said. I ****ing love it. Careful with the dudes suggesting you go D1 with a huge pulley. I wouldn't go anywhere past 4.25ish. My pulley took a big bite out of my hood insulation and I'm sure any larger would result in contact. I inspect my setup often and so far other than a few kinks here and there during install (shortening hoses here and there that weren't really clearly discussed, few brackets fit weird, the intercooler can cause issues if you aren't creative) i haven't had a single ****ing issue. I'm not certain you'll need or care about the race bypass but i hear it sounds awesome . The straight gears chatter... I'm not a fan of that noise. But the Helical has exactly the right amount of whine and hiss. Rev with the hood up and the hiss is overbearingly awesome lol.I have a full build thread. Check my history, I detailed my experience during install and did my best to give as much info as I felt was relevant. The only REAL advice i can give is be realistic with your power goal. This car is a bitch and a half to tune and a bigger bitch when it comes to fuel delivery. Be mindful, a bad tune or faulty fuel upgrade installs will result in a bbq'd piston. Most importantly? You're going to love it. |
