I will wait until next summer to do this. I'll let all your cars be the guinea pigs and practice vehicles. When they get to mine they should be well versed in the repair.

I'm not sure I get all the trepidation about the windshield being removed/replaced. There are companies that do this daily, outside in parking lots, with no ill effects....why some are so up-in-arms about a dealership doing this same action is confusing to me.

And if you don't think this is a big deal, you must be lucky enough to not live in a humid environment, or your car is not effected by the issue. It is terribly annoying, and definitely borders upon unsafe at times.

I couldn't agree more.

Dropped mine off. Will update when it's fixed and hopefully it will be fixed because it is terribly annoying as well as unsafe. I live 5 minutes from my dealership. The car has been in my garage since I drove it last weekend. Wife drove it to the dealership while I followed her there. Fan on low, torso vents only, no recirculation, synced set to 77 with an outside temperature of 87 this is what my car does within minutes of running the ac. For the naysayers who keep babbling about stick a towel on the dash or spray some rain X fog X on the windshield it does not work. While you can't see the problem myself and others who have been dealing with this pain in the ass problem are going through because you are such dedicated fan boys here are pictures to show the issue.

I love this car 99%. I'm a multiple Camaro owner for years. The 1% I don't love is this screwed up dash ac system. Maybe 50k is a drop in the bucket for a lot of people but for some of us it was a hell of a reach to get to. I refuse to keep a car that has such an annoyance that makes myself and my wife hate driving it unless it's winter time. I really hope that my dealership can fix it because if it doesn't it will be hard to part with the car for this because everything else has been so solid.

If I see enough people say it went off without a hitch I may let them do it. I have had dealerships screw what should be simple fixes up quite a few times. Last gen they had an issue with the dash insert bubbling. My dealership? Yea, they removed the entire dash and then looked at the directions and saw the insert just popped out. The dash was never aligned properly ever again and rattled. That's just one of the many issues I've had...

But I do agree that the removal and replacement of the windshield should be pretty straight forward considering this has been being done for what I would assume is at least a century.

I'd also want them to replace the headliner while the windshield is out due to the peeling issue that is happening with it on mine and multiple other people's cars.

My problem really isn't the warranty/TSB fixes. It's more the "oopses" that I've seen on my cars in the past, and the guys that take out my car and beat the shit out of it because they don't respect other people's stuff. (Had to sell my 2012 SS due to this...)

Maybe I'll put it in Teen driver mode to see how they treat this one.

They remove the Windshield, then two 250 lbs guys stand on the hood, hook up the grabber and start yanking on things.

Then document the damage and/or ill effects and have them repair it, or get ahold of GM Customer Service. There are plenty of ways to protect yourself from a crappy tech doing crappy work.

I don't mean to argue...and I completely understand the perspective that you spent hard-earned money on this car and it shouldn't fog up the windshield like it does.

But the fact is, it does. And the fact is, a towel, rolled up and placed over the vents really DOES work--100%. I removed my towel on a very humid day not long ago to see what kind of difference it makes. Windshield went from no fog (zero--not a trace) to most of the passenger side and nearly half of the driver side obscured.

The fog took a good 3 or 4 minutes to accumulate that much, but I was not moving (waiting for my wife to come out of a store), so I let it go until it got to the point where I wouldn't drive with it like that.

Then, I replaced the rolled up towel and waited. I didn't change any settings. It took significantly longer to de-fog, but within 10 minutes, there was no trace of the fog left. None.

There is no doubt this will work for anyone as a "temp fix" while you're waiting to get the service bulletin done. Please don't drive with it like that, because you don't have to!

Oh...by the way...I'm neither a naysayer, nor a fanboy. I'm simply a practical owner who spent nearly $50K of my own hard-earned money and am trying to make the best of it! Not much to complain about, really...

I hear you but each car has a different reaction to this problem. Some do it some don't some have a more severe case as does mine. This was literally within 5 minutes of driving. If I put the AC on medium to low temp and fan higher than low the whole windshield will completely be covered. I tried the towel, the base board, even made a cover out of lexan placing a thermal backing on it and it still leaked out. My wife refuses to drive it like this. We both don't like reaching for towels and stuffing them into the dash vent. Not safe when dealing with the traffic and people all up on you while you're distracted by a windshield and towels or rags or boards or whatever it may be. Just should be fixed and I have a new found confidence in my dealership to correct it this week.

I honestly love this car. This is my only complaint being that it is a safety concern and it also hinders us from enjoying the car here in a humid location. I've made the best of it by being patient hoping gm or my dealership can fix it. I believe it will be resolved this week for myself and everyone else who had this issue will eventually have it solved as well.

Curious if anyone has tried this out yet?

Foggy windows and windscreens are annoying and can be dangerous. Q2 AntiFog quickly and easily solves this problem making glass completely clear again and allowing for perfect visibility. Condensation or ‘fog’ is mainly caused by dampness in the car, or large temperature differences between the inside and outside; Q2 AntiFog solves these issues in one application that will prevent your windows fogging up again for at least 2 months...

With the TSB out now I'm fairly sure the new ones coming off the line have the new "fix" in place already. Can't say for sure if all 18 have it or not though. But ones after a certain date will for sure.

It isnt the inside of the windshield that fogs. It isnt fog at all. It is condensation forming on the outside of the windshield because it is being cooled below the dew point in humid environments (i.e.- Florida). Only way to quickly removr it is hitting the intermittent wiper, but it comes back almost instantly.

Well, after a few days of driving the car after the "fix", there is VERY LITTLE IMPROVEMENT! Gee thanks GM...

Windshield fogging was just as bad this morning as it was prior to the "fix".

If I were thinking about having this done, I'd wait to see what a couple of the other guys that are having his done think afterwards.
