Wax will cause spots. I would run as far away as I could from the guy that told you to acid wash the car

But yeah, once you do a rinseless you will be amazed.
I thank you and my Camaro thanks you. Will get up to date with DIY detailing and research the products listed in this thread. But, I'm not as old school as I originally thought because someone today asked me if I used a chamois to dry my car.....(insert shrill horror movie scream).

Okay, maybe this is the area I need more guidance on. I did not use any product over my ceramic coating for 8 whole months, then got annoyed with water spots. The recommendation was to wax the car after giving it an acid wash. I played it safe. What should I have done differently?

If your coating needs a "boost", Carpro has a newer product out called Essence Plus. Unlike Essence, it contains no abrasives, but will fix minor imperfections in your coating.

The regular Essence is used under the coating, the Essence Plus on top of it.

Easy oversight, no big deal.

Coatings are subseptible to spotting and there are a couple of ways to handle them. One is to use this, or simular product dedicated to this specific task.

The other is a quick polish with this.

If severe a very light polish with this will leave the coating intact. This is the last resort method. And very light. Using this it is best to apply another layer of coating, or a topper of choice such as essence plus, and detailing mixtue as needed.

Start with the dedicated spot remover.
