Just watched the video and all I have to say is DAMN the Camaro guys NAILED it. If that segment doesn't give you goose bumps after watching it I don't know what will.
I must I admit I was flabbergasted that the manual time (1.26.15) around Big Willow Race Track with Randy at the wheel ended up being faster than the the A10 (1.26.47), however, the reality check for all should be the difference between the two is so minuscule it's not even worth arguing or debating about. Besides, in the real world we are NOT race car drivers so I am pretty sure none of us would be able to come close to posting those numbers for both an A10 or manual. The biggest take away for me was the comment about the car NOT overheating after they repeatedly beat on it...that is music to my ears given how the Z06 had this issue. Big plus for the Camaro guys. Bottom line for me is this car is a beast on the street and the track....wooooooo hoooooooooooooo! P.S. Source: http://www.motortrend.com/cars/chevr...e-squad-goals/ "Randy strongly felt there were some tenths left in the automatic ZL1. He worked with a couple of engineers from Chevy and kept adjusting tire pressures and lapping. The result? An unofficial lap time of 1:25.87, recorded on the ZL1’s optional Performance Data Recorder (PDR)."

they always have engineers on hand from the manufacturer to squeeze the best times based on randy thinking there is time to be gained from an adjustment, the manual would have gone through the same adjustments as the a10 so please do not say that the a10 got special treatment.
automatics tend to have some additional rwhp loss than manuals so imho both transmissions are no slouch with times so close to each other

seriously, if people are gonna put on their tin foil hats about things going on behind the scenes for political reasons then at least have some proof or understanding of how MT always does their testing

Side note: I don't care about the manual vs auto thing. Get whichever one you want folks. I'd be happy with either. |

Nope. Not here.
Folks - if you've got any agendas or insecurities regarding M6 v A10 (which seems silly to me, but whatever)...please take it to an existing thread. Any derailing beyond this post will be deleted in an effort to keep the thread clean. |

I def agree, and I don't want to make it about that either. Just silly that conspiracy is the first conclusion people jump to on an unofficial time. But I guess it by Itself shows how ridiculous of a claim that is.

Well you guys have piqued my interest enough that I will sign up for the free trial and take a look at the video. I don't particularly like the Motor Trend guys, but I will take a look at the video.

Wow!!!! what a great review :-)
I love the way that the car automatically downshifted and was ready for the next turn.
