I was also looking at getting the ported TB and ported intake manifold however was curious as to how they compared to the MSD intake. Which would give better gains, my gut feeling says the ported TB/LT1 intake which also makes me ask can you port a MSD intake and get even better results? Which is the overall best Ported TB and Intake I can get?

Sorry for being MIA today. I had a Z06 to wrap up some tuning on. If anyone still has any outstanding questions please shoot me a PM and I will address.
d_moneyyyyy... I think it depends on your ultimate goals. PRAY did some testing today on a MSD he ported. He may be able to chime in with a response. If you are going to go H/C down the road MSD has much more potential. If you are going to stay bolt on and want maximum mid range then ported stock IM is the better path. Tim |

The ported stock IM/TB crushes the stock MSD/TB up till about 6K. The MSD actually never pulls ahead it just holds it's lower total number longer. I tested my Ported MSD/TB today against my ported stock IM/TB and it close the gap a bit. The ported MSD/TB passed my ported stock stuff around 5K, came much closer on TQ down low and showed a real gain up top along with carrying power all the way to 6,500. They could be pretty close on the track now.
So if you are not going to have me port the MSD/TB then don't bother. Save the money, do the ported stock stuff and order E85 and a tune.

Hey guys. I'm interested in the flex fuel kit. The install sounds easy. But, can you get the tuning part done remotely? I live in northern Illinois.
Also, how much horsepower gain is there on a stock motor with just the flex fuel kit and tune. thanks! John |

Flex Fuel with a tune is about 30 RWHP at the wheels if you are E70 or better. Tim |

For all of those that ordered Flex Fuel kits... the sensors are arriving tomorrow. I'm working on assembling the harnesses. I should be caught up and begin shipping on Friday. I expect to fulfill all Flex Fuel orders by Tuesday.

Thanks. Also, does the tune/fuel sensor vary the horsepower based on the perceived octane level in the tank? In other words if I had 95 octane average in the tank, would the tune take advantage of that or does it use some sort of threshold to trigger the tune? (for example anything over 100 octane and it enables the high performance table). What would also be great is if it sensed low octane fuel (like 87) and was able to safely dumb down the horsepower so one could use cheap gas for times winter use, etc. I know there were some threads about how it was unsafe or unwise to use low octane fuel. Some even claimed it could damage the engine. Also, how much is the HP tuners device and how does it work? |

The Flex Fuel sensor cannot detect octane level. I set the baseline timing for whatever your regular fuel is (91, 93). Additional timing will be added as the ethanol percentage increases.
HP Tuners is $499 for the Standard Version. It allows you to modify and flash the ECM calibration. It sits between your laptop and the vehicle OBDII port. Tim |

To everyone that placed orders...
The bulk of Flex Fuel kits and HP Tuners orders are going out Monday morning. I targeted yesterday but I had a delay in some of the components arriving on time. There will be 3-4 Flex Fuel kit orders that will ship out mid week. I had to order more hose assemblies. I believe most of you selected UPS Ground. If your ship time is 2 days or less I will keep it there. If you are 3 days or more I will convert to USPS Priority to keep the window as small as possible. As for the IMs... we have had some issues with cores and broken PCV nipples during shipping. I am going to purchase some new cores to keep the pipeline going and avoid delays as much as possible for those of you that ordered. I will be changing the website over the weekend to give purchasers two options on the ported IM/TB products. 1. Utilize the current model we have but without any guarantee of delivery date. We can't control the issues we have been having with slow core return and damage. 2. Offer a new model which will be more expensive but will utilize new cores we procure, allow quick turn around, and avoid messing with core exchanges all together. This should satisfy the needs of most. Tim |
