The small trunk opening and lack of a rear seat make it hard to justify it as an only car for most people.

Its important to remember that the Camaro is tied to ATS and CTS survival. There needs to be enough volume in the three to justify the platform because the Cadillac's can make it without the Camaro volume and vice versa.

GM announced it will invest another $211 million at Lansing Grand River for new tooling and equipment and for a 32,000-square-foot addition to the body shop.

The next ATS and CTS is coming in 2019.

Sales of 6 gen up for December

On Facebook there was a story that in December GM sold 7000 new 6th gen Camaro, if it Right that's good news and hope it goes up from there.

There are way too many Camaro's in inventory. Perhaps the incentives are having an effect.

Yes, sales were up some 2000 units last month. There is a thread about this already...

Did not see it looked at the first page only, but do you think it has more to do with price.

I used to enjoy these monthly sales numbers a lot more.....To me, it was a just a reflection of a popularity contest among the friendly rivalry between Mustang, Camaro, and Challenger....

Anymore, the speculation over "fleet" and "rental" numbers skewing actual sales numbers, makes the other reasons of price and styling have less of an influence in which brand "sells" more...

The number of units sold in retail sales to end-user customers is never known....Only anecdotal speculation about how many units go to fleet and rental seem to have the most impact on trying to figure out what actual retail sales are....

Just my $.02.....

There was a 20% Bonus Tag for some 2016 models in effect last month that expired on Jan. 3. Look for sales numbers to take a dip in January.

Not all 2016's were discounted. I tried to pick one up and none of them where 20% off.

Dealers have to decide which units to hang the tag on. If you search ChevyDealer.com you will see they got stuck with many red and yellow 2016s.

There is accurate data on retail sales vs fleet sales.
http://www.autonews.com/article/2017...-sales-dec-ytd

Fleet furthermore can be broken down into rental, commercial and government. Are the numbers accurate to a unit of sale? No, but with hundreds of thousands of sales reported, it's easy to see the relative differences among various models and manufacturers.

Thanks for the response, but I'm not interested in having to "subscribe" or whatever to that website....Perhaps the info is there as you suggest....and maybe if there is someone who regularly uses that web-site could kindly post the info...

My point was the breakdown of sales, (retail and fleet), and the numbers of each, have never been shown with any accuracy (other than guesstimates based on GM's policy statements) in these sales threads....

It would be nice to see the more detailed numbers and avoid all the "debate" and arguing over how much of each months "sales" numbers from Mustang, Camaro and Challenger are retail, and how many are fleet, rental, gov't etc.....

Thanks again.
