Ok, so I go down to my dealer & park my butt in the office of the chap who does all the ordering for new cars...he isn't in there, but oddly enough my sales guy is 'making copies'. Told him I wanted to pick this guys brain and see where we are on actual A10 allocation.
So, we went over everything & went circles back to the same place with no answers on allocation...told them my understanding is you the dealer can tell me yes or no if you have an actual A10 allocation available. Finally, the order guy says: "you are correct, we do not have an A10 allocation as of right now. We get allocations released every Thursday." He seemed sincere but I guess Becky can confirm if this is factual in general in regards to how allocations are indeed released to dealers. Not 100% if this was every first Thursday of the month, or a release every Thursday?? Told them thanks & just trying to get all of us on the same communication level...I think it was a big help to my sales guy as well. Still feel this whole deal of having a customer in their face during the front end has them a little flustered for some reason. Can only guess it's a little foreign to them vs the daily grind of sell, sell, sell today. I'm happy with my dealer & the service I've been given even if they are not in the know with my situation...I have no doubt they will get an allocation if not Feb 9 then the next, which is fine. Told them I just want to be in the loop during the process. Don't want folks to think I went like bull. Everything was very cordial, friendly & professional. He did show me a page on his pc which showed all the special orders in their system & currently the only ZL1, which was kinda spiffy. I asked if he had one on order for stock & he said yes, but mine is scheduled as a '1' and would get picked up before any stock order. |

Not sure if anyone else is being told this but I've been told by a few people now that if you didn't get a allocation your not going to get one. Here's why ... over 2000 allocation were giving out nation wide but only 89 autos . So the dearships that got a allocation but can only build a M6 . Can wait till feb 8th to see if they can use it for a auto10 but there is no guarantee they will be able to. So once gen 8th rolls around it will most likely be for these already giving out allocations to turn into autos or for more new allocations. Here's why I think there won't be more new allocations. I've talked to 7 dealerships that turned down yes turned down there zl1 allocations!!!!! To Chevy that means low demand and we all know they are hurting with cars sitting on the lot. If your dealership don't have a allocation you better find on that does.

There were only 89 A10 Coupe & 10 A10 vert allocations given out in late Dec...many think to launch of the A10 tranny itself.
Many more will be available come Feb 9th...more in March, etc. Quote:

I canceled my order that I placed with my friend because Becky, a few others on here, and my friend's rep all told us that dealers had been told if they were going to get an allocation for phase 2 (which goes through the remainder of the 2017 model year) around the middle of December, and my friend wasn't getting one. My friend had his rep tell him which dealerships near us had an allocation so I could try to get it and that's what I did, just in time to get picked up for the first round of A10s. So if your dealer doesn't have an allocation now, I don't know that they will get one for the 2017s. Hope I'm wrong for anyone that has an order placed but no allocation.

How can you place an order without any allocation?
I thought you have to have an allocation to place your order... |

Here is what my dealer explained to me (based on what I've heard others say, I think this is fairly accurate)
- Any dealer can place an order whether they have an allocation or not. If an order is placed without an allocation, it will be filled after all allocated cars have been produced, but before "routine" orders are filled (likely the last part of the 2017 cycle). - An allocation is really just a "commitment" or letter of intent from G/M to provide the dealer with a specified number of ZL1's. The allocation specifies whether the commitment is for manual, auto, coupe or convertible - An allocation does NOT specify or commit to when the order will be picked up, even if the order is placed against the allocation. An allocation is little more than a "commitment" to fill the order SOMETIME during the 2017 ordering cycle; but not a specific time. So people like me who have an order placed, with an allocation (or commitment), may or may not get picked up during the next (Feb 9th) cycle; but we can expect to get a car SOMETIME during the 2017 cycle. My understanding and my dealer's understanding, hope this helps

Thank you
Is there a senior list (based on dates when preliminary orders were placed)? Does GM respect this list and pick order one after the other depending on when they were placed? If it's the case, are we allowed to check where we are on this list? In that way we can know approximately depending on how many orders (02/09, 03/09...) when ours will come.... |

I think the main problem is these salesman and dealerships don't understand how it works. A 1100 order with out a allocation will NEVER get picked up. And just cause they have a m6 allocation doesn't mean it will get picked up as a a10 on feb 9th. I've been told by some of the biggest dealerships ( we have a lot in the south ). That if you didn't get a allocation in dec there's a very strong chance your not getting one. I'm starting to wonder if this car will be another 350r. I've herd they will make less then 400 a10's this year

I was under the impression that dealers were told their allocation of ZL1s for Phase II, but did not know whether that allocation was for a M6 car or an A10 car, and that they could order either transmission against their allocation, subject to constraints on availability at the time their allocation comes up within the order cycles (like the 89 total A10s for coupes in the 12/22-12/27 order cycle). Would be helpful if Becky can confirm whether the allocation that was communicated to dealers on 12/7 was specific as to M6 or A10 allocations. If dealers know as of 12/7 whether their Phase II allocation is for M6 or A10 cars, I'm probably screwed (again) as my dealer is telling me they know only that they have an allocation for one ZL1 coupe in Phase II. Thanks in advance, Becky!

NOT - transmission specific ....................... Transmission availability is communicated in the Order Cycle - as a constraint item. Becky |
