Not really. Nobody wants a stripped out track model. Nobody. Tiny market.
It's hard enough selling a car with a manual trans !
Plus the track model was probably tracked. So you really really don't want to buy that car used!

I don't think you get blind spot monitoring with the 1LE. If you're going to DD the car more than you track it, that may be the most important thing to consider.

While I don't like sued surfaces (or whatever it technically is), I could deal with it. I also love the ceramic white interior.

I went back and forth on this for a long time and decided to pick up a 2016 2SS A8 with magride. The magride gives you the option of upgrading to the 1LE / ZL1 suspension later if you think you need it. For me it was more a matter of the wife needing the A8. If it wasn't for the wife / transmission issue. 1LE all the way. I will say that the 2SS A8 with magride is a great car and does well already. For local mountain roads I don't think I need to upgrade it at all. Its good. Now for someone going to the track, the differences between the 1LE and the SS will become larger. But if you put good tires on it and maybe upgrade to the 1LE suspension then it will be closer. Cost wise, it will cost more to build your own 1LE. But doing tires alone only adds 1500 dollars and probably gets you closer to 1LE perfomance. It all depends on how much you will track it. I'm happy with my decision so far.

I did the same thing with my order, but went with better tires and an M6. Did you get the 6 pistons as well? We get slotted rotors with it and the 1LE doesn't. On the highway, you/your wife are going to be glad you have the blind spot monitoring.

No I got the standard brakes which are fine so far, but I haven't been to the track yet. Track days are a whole different level of performance and driving technique which I haven't done in the SS yet. I've heard the standard brakes work pretty good with better fluid and brake ducts. For me I think a tire upgrade on stock wheels will be more car than I will ever need for what I plan on doing. That could all change if I decide to do trackdays. I've pushed the car pretty good and I'm very impressed with what the stock SS with mag ride can do right off the showroom floor. Its pretty good as is.
