Beating/abusing a car is constant redline RPM hold, slamming gears without proper timing, doing a lot of high RPM launches, not changing oil, thrashing the inside, etc.

Flooring the car, driving it aggressively (and smoothly) is what these cars are built for. I would've purchased a Buick Regal if I wanted a sensible car to drive leisurely

Hmmm....numerous high temp warnings, red paint on calipers burned brown, 3 sets of brake pads, two sets of tires......15k miles and exactly one year old. I think I'm driving mine like it was intended. I plan to do the same with whatever gen 6 model I end up with next year.

because racecar

My thinking is that driving under hard acceleration isn't abuse, but neither would I want to do it ALL of the time. Drive safely obviously but I have no issue with playing around either as long it's not endangering others, like Mustangs do at car shows.

You have to opt in for that. I did the snapshot program with Progressive, but I would not do the Onstar program. The snapshot program only monitors hard brakes and late night driving (10:00PM to 4:00AM IIRC) and it's only in your car for 6 months.

Don't abuse it , but use all of the HP and Torque you payed for. It's pretty much a heavier corvette, drive it like it's meant to be driven
