So I noticed yesterday that my dealers website has my car listed on it, which confirms that it's on its way. Now I've heard that it's Chevrolet that does this, but I feel a little funny about it. I mean, I special ordered this car (SRE) and put down a deposit, so why do they list it? I wonder with some shady dealers out there if one has sold some naive person's car right out from under them... I've heard it's been done with cars already on the lot.

You got me thinking, once I understood what you meant. I looked on my dealers site for their inventory as well.
I see mine is listed also. I checked the VIN # . Im personally not worried about it. This might be something Chevy does as it leaves the factory. I just wish it said when it would arrive instead of in transit. My salesman is going to call me and give me a time frame if he can.
I plan on using the Costco plan and get their price plus $700 gift card. I just have to have it to by Jan 3, 2017.

Unfortunately, I'm still waiting for the car to actually be shipped to the dealer. I checked in with my dealer today and they said it's still awaiting to be shipped, however they showed it's slated for a 11/16 (Wednesday) shipment to the dealer. We'll see...

So, I bought my car today! Despite all my worries about my dealership, they gave me an amazing deal without any negotiation whatsoever. ($200 over invoice) I'm beginning to think they mean well, but just aren't prepared for a Camaro obsession such as mine. The ordering manager joked that he was going to refer future Camaro SREs to me because I knew so much about my build! He did manage to tell me my car has indeed shipped, on a rail car from Charlotte Michigan to Wentzville Missouri. Hopefully just a matter of days!

Dealer update:

Railcar arrived last Friday in Wentzville, MO. Slowest train ever! Still on railcar as of today. Delivery expected by this Friday! Fingers crossed for tomorrow! Otherwise it's going straight into storage...

What part of Illinois? I grew up in Peoria but through many travels in the Marine Corps I eventually retired (very early) and now call Hawaii my home.

I live much further south. Closest bigger city to me is Mt. Vernon, about an hour due east of St. Louis. Lived in this area my whole life. Would love to leave, but my wife loves it here.

Mine came in on Sunday, service department was closed though so they couldn't install the dealer options. Monday found out that the embroidered console cover wasn't sent so they overnighted one for Tuesday. That came in yesterday but was damaged so they had to overnight another one so hopefully all is good with that one and I should get mine today. Very excited, haven't had a Camaro since my 2000 SS.

The delay was probably due to the other three cars on the list. Not sure why it says 2LT?

Sorry to here about the damage. Must be a small dealer if they have to park your new Camaro in the leaves etc. and not a blacktop surface.

Yeah. Smaller dealership. I took a picture of the damage but the panel was so filthy it didn't show up well. I figure they had it in the mud so I couldn't climb underneath to see exactly how bad it was. Right now it's at the body shop. (Checked the Onstar.) So far three hard accelerations and one hard braking, but I guess that's normal based on what I've read about Onstar. I hope it's a quick fix.
