Gary, I agree with you about the '16s being smaller than the Gen 5s. I had a 2010 2SS that had more interior room and trunk room for sure but the Gen 6 is so much better to me now that I have been driving mine since April.

The car looks awesome OP. The black stripe/black wheel combo really looks great on it!

Tire swap update

Just an update on the tire situation. Local Goodyear dealer here is swapping my new stock tires for same F1 all season replacements. Same staggered sizes. Only difference is the rears are not run flats, front are. (On the all seasons) He gave me awesome trade in allowance, so it's only costing me a few hundred
I've been driving the SS for a few days now, and it is an awesome ride
Vette guys giving me the nod, not sure yet why the thumbs up's from the Mustang and Challenger crowd too
This thing is definitely a head turner

Beautiful car OP!
Congrats on achieving retirement also!

A fair amount of cool rain in my neck of the woods also from October through April/May. I just have to be very careful of the right foot & aware of the road conditions. If it snows, she stays in the garage. But snow doesn't happen that often where I am in Oregon. Black ice is something to be aware of & that goes to situational awareness.

What a terrible color combo....

Enjoy it!!!

That's cool you're getting nods and thumbs up. I've gotten some from fellow Camaro guys...I was in NY a few weekends ago and got a bunch of thumbs up from the Audi and BMW guys that were having a cruise. That was pretty cool.

Are the goodyear Eagle F1 tires on the SS a different model or season than the RS package?

My RS came with square 245/40/20 Eagle F1 all season tires. I'm in Alberta and so far they've seen hot weather and a low of 10c and rain. They've seen lots of rain. And were fine in the rain EXCEPT when hitting a deep puddle the car jolts to that side. Not sure if thats a hydroplaning sensation but its a bit unsettling.

I had no traction issues though. The stock tires will do fine till they die.

Ill be putting Nokians on those rims for the winter and hoping to pick up identical rims in the staggered SS size.

Tires swapped!

The new Goodyear F1 All Seasons came in the other day and I got them put on.
A couple surprises, They're not run flat ( I really don't care) and they have a great built in rim protector in the form of a protruding rib at the bead. Great idea! I just need to get an inflator kit for remote emergencies where BCAA or GM roadside isn't available.

Great looking car. Have you considered blacking out the bow tie in the front?
As for tires, as a Canadian I always have two sets. One for summer and performance driving and another for safety in bad weather. My view is a performance car deserves performance tires. All seasons will hurt performance - but that really depends on how you drive the car.

Just wanted to throw in my congratulations also. We are kindred spirits. I too choose the 2SS over the C7 because I knew I would treat the C7 like a garage queen and not drive it like it was meant to. The 2SS is a great combo of a DD and enthusiast's drive. Going with the 2SS also gave me the funds to add an SC and still have funds left over. The SC give me the additional driving experience enhancement.

My 2SS is also my early retirement gift to myself and I also live in the Pacific NW (Washington). Maybe we'll catch up sometime on Hwy 2, one of my favorite drives! Okanogan wine sucks though.

Yes, I did the Black bow ties, SS center caps, color matched mud flaps, and Extra mats.
Love the Numder 2 and 20 for the Cascade loop! I usually do it couple times a year on the Harley. Doing it in 2 weeks in the SS, cuz I'm banished from the bike for 8 more weeks while I recover from surgery.
Wish I still had access to the US market for accessories, our Canadian $ has been hammered, makes it hard to buy bike and car parts south of the border these days. May still pick up an inflator kit while I'm down. Still freaked about not having a spare🤔
