Ricardo, I am on yalls website looking at the race series cat back. There is no listing for the A8 17. So as stated above, do I just need to order the manual version and tune for the AFM light? I really like this exhaust, i am sure matched with the Roto Fab CAI, it will make this car really growl.

I looked at this exhaust for quite some time, however, I ordered the Borla S-Type yesterday. Hoping the S-Type will be loud enough paired with Rotofab's intake. |

I have been looking at exhausts since we ordered the car. I was hooked on the borla ATAK until I saw this video. Efituning makes the error eliminator pigtails to solve the AFM code. There's a link on the previous page. But for future mods and tunes, I want a catback as the car will get longtubes and full exhaust and possible cam swap.

I have the NPP on my 16 and with the valves being deleted from the exhaust function will there be an error code?

http://www.rangetechnology.com/pages/v8 From their page: "The Range AFM Disabler Device keeps your vehicle in 8 cylinder mode 100%, preventing the Active Fuel Management system from dropping cylinders. This is the only product that will disable Active Fuel Management without reprogramming the factory ECU. Full power delivery all the time without factory warranty concerns." There are at least two people I've seen here with it on. Check the amazon listing here to read reviews and decide for yourself. https://www.amazon.com/Range-Technol.../dp/B00BR1R8N8

If I'm not mistaken the ECM only controls what's going on inside the engine. The CCM controls the valves so at some point in time you will get a code. Tim from EFI tuning has addressed this with a AFM delete Module. You can find it on his site. http://efi-tuning.net/efi-tuning-201...module-set-v2/ There are two parts to the picture. The first part is the engine management side. The ECM directly controls what is going on inside the engine as it pertains to AFM. The CCM controls the AFM and NPP valves. Because the CCM controls these entities we do not have a way to tune out the codes related to on them. If the CCM doesn't see what it is expecting to regarding the valves it will set the CEL. If you disconnect them you will definitely set a CEL. If you keep them plugged in but tie them out of the way you may set a CEL at some point. Below is his explanation on it: The EFI Tuning module addresses the CCM side of the picture. The module replaces the valve actuator and keeps the CCM happy. The version currently sold on our website requires that AFM be disabled all together in the ECM. Anyone using a non-AFM camshaft or wanting to go to a non-AFM aftermarket exhaust system will fall into this category. The next version I'm completing the layout on today will allow you to keep AFM active in the ECM but not need an AFM compliant exhaust system. This use case was requested by some of the C7 guys. I prototyped it early on so it is just a simple PCB and firmware change to accommodate. Please let me know if I've managed to confuse anyone Depending on which exhaust supplier you look at you may save yourself a considerable amount of money going with this solution. Thank you, Tim |

I absolutely did. You guys are awesome. I contacted customer support and they rerouted the package back to the warehouse before it got to me. The have been extremely helpful and great to deal with. I'm getting store credit for it(which was the option that I chose). So, I will definitely be making a better researched purchase(s) soon. Ha!

The process of aluminum corrosion actually protects the rest of the aluminum...the oxidization process actually stops further corrosion.... forms a protective layer.... if you dont scrape off the aluminum oxide it will be fine...

Since you have had some time with the exhaust what do you think of it overall? I am trying to decide weather to go with this or Borla Atak and keep my NPP function.
