The delete pipes show that the factory cats aren't a huge restriction on a stock engine. There is some to be gained past 6K with the reduced backpressure but nothing earth shattering. For $300 is beats a ported TB.

Tuning is really needed to maximize the bolt on path. These are all with the stock intake manifold and no other mods.

10 HP and 11 ft lbs peak and very board! Looks great IMO. sound is better too. Check the 20+ foot lbs at 3000 RPM with tune, that's what I'm talking!!!!
Best 300 ever, $30 per HP, no drawbacks and better sound...

its pretty subtle with the standard exhaust. I highly doubt a plain vid would capture. Overall the sound with CAI CAI, MSD Intake and Cat delete is pretty good for a standard exhaust. I like the SS works bypass (side burner) for the Challenger and may do that if and when they produce a set for the 6th gen. Kind of like the OEM Boss setup but better...

Yes for a bit. I wanted to see what the cat delete pipes and tune were actually worth.

I did mine in about 1/2 hour take-off.
1) spray liquid wrench on all bolts / nuts
2) remove front 02
3) use 3/8 breaker bar and whoble to loosen all nuts, 1 drivers side needed a u Joint cause I I don't have mid length 15mm and or could find my shorter wobble.
4) use electric wrench to remove all
5) drivers side clamp is a bear, it needs to be LOOSE, the front cat inserts into the rear exhaust and this clamp is welded to the front cat and goes OVER the lip of the rear exhaust. Basically the rear flange is sandwiched and if the front cat clamp ain't loose, it aint coming off.

put on is about 20 minutes, I need a cheap and small 15mm wrench, one bolt both sides. Stubby a must IMO or just cut the $3 autozone one in half.

also a shout out for TSloper for walking me thru the cat don't monitor function. No check engine!

My car M6, base exhaust has a much more subdued sound vs TSloper. To my mind it sounds a little like my 440 dart with flowmasters, or like the sound track of bullet. It is most evident at start and low to midrange RPM at WOT.

I'm completely happy with the product, the performance gain, the price, the sounds and more than happy about the quality. I may just weld O2 bungs in back of the second cats and see if there are any codes with the stock programmer, sheer laziness has kept me away from this project.

Stock Header:
This is a twinwalled header pipe in pipe just like the original LS1 manifolds, Unless you want to do a lot of cutting and welding you ain't getting the inside pipe out. The last collector is cast and it is 2.1" ID both sides. You maybe able to get 2.2 or 2.25 fully ported, you probably could port it right on the car....

For those with NPP...

I pulled the fuse today and find this to be the best configuration for the cat delete from a sound perspective. I couldn't justify switching to another exhaust system until I do something significant power wise. It sounds good at all RPMs.

Thank you for the review TSloper! Glad you like them. We will look into including O2 plugs in the future.

Why does this only remove the primaries leaving the secondaries for what purpose? I would think the majority of new owners would want rather a unmonitored secondary delete leaving the primaries without O2 or warranty issues. Or a cat delete that removed them both. Please explain, thanks. I'm interested in doing this as well

the primaries are IMO where the restriction is. The have many turns, heavily crimped and they are the hottest meaning the exhaust gas has the most volume and energy. So the most HP is to be gained. Plus it looks like the stock header can be ported form 2.1 to 2.25 ID on the exit, a perfect match.

The second 02 appear to be much bigger and are straight and run cooler, meaning less restriction.

What you say is true, if warranty is an issue then 2nd CAT back is your ONLY option and it is not a true bolt on as it requires cutting up the stock H pipe. IMO it is far more costly and will yield less HP. Same goes for an even more costly after 1st CAT back a(a true Bolton), IMO it will cost a lot more and yield less HP.

I have an M6 and the 1st gear really needs a lot of mid range torque so I opted to keep the tri-y factory header, run a longer runner and larger plenum intake, and tune. So far I'm happy. I'm still in the tuning process.

BTW I can easily weld bungs in back of 2nd cat and run the 02 with no need to tune, sheer laziness prevents me from doing so.

i am surprise these delete pipes shows no gain or lost power under the curve from 3500 rpm up to 6k with stock tune.

Thanks oldman I have the M6 as well, not sure what you meant by the H pipe? My x pipe is much further to the rear. Also are the round sections mid way on the exhaust resonators? and the hp benefits from removing both cats with a tune? Don't mind me I just rather ask first
