For us guys running V6 Gen6 cars, the choice is pretty simple:
$3000 6-Piston brakes, sourced straight from GM, or... $400 4-Piston takeoffs from EVERY member on this board, or... 4-Piston FTW!!! |

I'll upgrade to the 6 pots once I upgrade my MRC to the 1LE kit. The car's braking during commuting has been good, but with temps dropping the factory tires are getting less effective at stopping the car.
The SS should have come with the 6 pistons to begin with, since it's still a heavy car IMO but I understand why it didn't with the 1LE model trim. |

It's impossible to find credible weight of the stock 4 piston setup. I found a similar rotor on a scale... it was probably different enough and the scale wasn't calibrated. Even if the 6 piston setup is 2-3 lbs heavier, I think it's still worth it for how good those brakes feel.
