This transformers movie is a stupid idea. Not only is bumblebee not even really popular anymore, but it's the one autobot that doesn't even speak. It only has the ability to sample nonsense it picks up over crap radio/tv frequencies. 90 minutes of that garbage? I'd rather pay to watch Zoolander 2.

Actually the mustang was heavily used in the series blacklist last year.

Deadpool was a really good movie.

Surprised me as I'm not a big fan of any of the Comic book movies.

since I derailed this thread to advertising:

^^ This. Kept wondering why there were exaggerating the heck out of that exhaust when he was going like 30 mph. :P I mean, I know they do that for every car in tv shows/movies...but it seemed a bit ridiculous. I do love me some Blacklist though.

What does camaro have anything to do with me stating how much a movie series that you say is dying! did? Camaro sales in the 90s is a series that was dying. This movie series not so much. My post had nothing to do with camaro sales. Just a response to your Hollywood financial knowledge.
ok....

The Camaro appearing in the Transformers movie is nothing more than product placement advertising, for the purpose of gaining exposure for the Camaro, and hope to encourage sales, which for the 5th gen worked well, allowing the Camaro to outsell the mustang for years in a row, which hadn't happened before.

It's still selling tickets, sure, but not as many as the original trilogy did. My point is that you posted the total in worldwide sales, which don't matter much from the advertising perspective since the Camaro isn't an internationally available/affordable car like the mustang is, which even comes in right(wrong) side drive to better sell worldwide. In America it did OK, but it is showing signs of slowing down substantially... not to mention that 2014 was a year full of shitty films, so it coming in 2nd place in America that year doesn't say much.

I am willing to gamble and bet my left nut that the next transformers movie will not do anywhere near as well as the 4th one did, especially without the original cast. it is a dying series. slow dying, but dying.

your post didn't have much to do with sales, but having bumblebee be a Camaro does, 100%

While I agree with your first paragraph, there's a lot of "your" opinion in the rest. The best year for the franchise (2009), it still came in 2nd for the US compared to an absolutely terrible movie (IMO) Avatar. As far as 2014 being a year of shitty movies, I'm sure there are many who will disagree (Marvel had there best year to date). I would have swore that Fast and Furious was a dying franchise, but people keep going to see it. Never underestimate the Hollywood hype machine, and in the end it's a better place to advertise than TV commercials in an age of on demand and DVR.

The Transformer movie franchise is the inspiration for the kids coming up to lust after and one day own a Camaro and continue the rich tradition of growing our consumer base with the next generation and beyond. The movies are for the kids in all of us and not just our own kids that we pass on our love for Camaro's and also muscle cars in general.

I will always remember April 2009 driving Fbobfather's yellow SS (Thor) on Daytona Beach with the windows down. Seemed like every kid was pointing and Yelling "Bumble Bee, Bumble Bee!!!!!!"

Fbodfather actually had the Bumble Bee stripes and badges put on later.
