Some people still think of Camaro owners with mullets blasting their Def Leppard cassettes. Please don't add to the stereotype. Camaro is grown up. So too should it's owners be. Thank God I'm never buying a car you drove. |

Any RESPONSIBLE dealer would make sure all of their Corvettes and Camaros (if possible) were put in transport mode the second they get them off the truck. And then only let the customer who buys it take it out of transport mode. This is a VERY handy tool. |

So..if I'm hearing this right...
People are expected to make at minimum a $37,000 purchase without actually pushing the car? I'm not talking about thrashing the ever living crap out of it..but really seeing what it's capable of... |

Would you want someone hammering your car before you bought it?

It's my choice to buy the car...if I see a brand new Camaro/Challenger/Mustang sitting on the lot with 75 or 80 miles..I'd drive it and if I wasn't comfortable with the amount of miles or anything about it..I'd buy a similar car with less miles OR custom order one.

my local dealer got an SS, know them personally so they let me take it out for a test drive alone. all i can say is that i hauled a$$ in it and did things that you shouldnt do in the break in procedure lol thankfully i got one that literally came off the truck and was the only one that drove it lol

The fact of the matter is that most owners will not follow the break in procedure. If you don't allow people to test drive the cars and make some hard acceleration runs, you run the risk of chasing away potential customers. If you let people drive it like you stole it, then the owners who want to follow break in procedures are much less likely to buy from you. It's a no win situation. If you want to break it in, your best bet is to order new. I honestly don't think people should be worried about 10-12 miles of driving unless it was track time though.
