You be better off keeping your SS and going coilovers and suspension upgrades/boltons. But since the gen6 is out, I rather get the gen6.

You could try this bimmer for a summer and see after what is on the way for the track package (1LE) later on.

Those E92 do look great!! Nice high reving V8 too.

I was looking into buying a used E92 M3 last summer.
Test drove one and I liked it...but honestly wasn't blown away by the power delivery. The engine doesn't have much down low...you really need to Rev it to find the power (414 hp, 295 ft-lbs).
The LT1 Camaro blows the E92 M3 away in terms of power. BUT the biggest thing that steered me away from the S65 engined M3 is a very well documented rod bearing issue with this motor.
Seems the high reving nature of the engine mixed with an issue of very tight rod bearing clearance is causing many rod bearing lubrication failures on these cars. It would really suck to buy such an expensive car and constantly be worried about having to rebuild due to this issue... $$$
Threads below documenting the rod bearing issue.

I like German cars....but if you plan on keeping your car long term...the E92 M3 is probably a bad choice.

Also, compare the price difference of replacing an engine in a BMW E92 M3 vs a Camaro.

Not much aftermarket for the LT1 yet...but take the Gen5 LS3 its about ~$6000 (NEW).
