I would try to find a Camaro or caddy to test drive to feel how the mag ride is so smooth before dismissing this option.

Just my .02

I fine with that. That's the fun part of owning a car with a lot of aftermarket support.

I think if you wanted the perfect setup for track mrc is a no go.

AS others have said, for a daily driver and occasional track/twisty driving, the MRC is a great compromise between comfort and aggression. But if you only plan to weekend drive or frequent HPDE, the standard suspension with some aftermarket upgrades will serve you well. You have to decide what is important to you. Although many people will say you have to get it, there are advantages to each. All depends on what your goal is for the car, and what your tolerance level is to a stiff ride. Take into account how many miles you plan to drive, how you drive, and the roads in your area.

If for some strange reason there's an engineer that was part of the MRC dev team reading this thread, please shoot me a PM. I have a few questions for motorsport that maybe you can help me with.

Not really. MRC works awesome on the track.

No one said MRC doesn't work on the track. It works very well. But there are plenty of non MRC setups that work better. That is why I said for occasional track work. If you are going to dedicate large amounts of time to track duty, there are better suspension choices available (i.e. coilovers, aftermarket suspension parts...). That's why it is personal preference. If you have 0 fu@#s to give about a compliant street comfortable ride, the $1695 can be better spent elsewhere. If you need proof, look at the 5th gen Z/28. If MRC is the end all be all of suspensions, why didn't they use MRC? And I am 100% sure it handles better than the ZL1.

So which setup from the factory will do really well on a track and twisties? MRC? Lowering springs? Standard? How does this affect the driver modes track and sport? How come MRC doesn't perform really well on a track?

It's not that it doesn't perform well. But it won't do as good as a dedicated setup.

Even the reviews show this. The best test was with a non mrc camaro.

Race dampers, springs etc can provide much better overall track focused settings than mrc will ever be able to provide.

Look, I'll be really blunt here, there are very few of us here that would produce better times on a track with a non-MRC car, than with. We're talking those around Randy Pobsts level of acumen.

Don't listen to those that have passed the lore from forum to forum repeating what people who they don't know said about MRC.

My best friend's sister's boyfriend's brother's girlfriend heard from this guy who knows this kid who's going with the girl who said MRC doesn't work well at 31 Flavors last night. It's gotta be true.

All I can say is MRC is amazing, my ZL1 feels like its on rails with the MRC. I can handle turns so fast its insane.

The MRC is so good its hard to even get my car sideways. I would say its worth it IMO.

I'm laughing at all these people who are just quoting blogs or random people, take it from someone who has drove a car with MRC...

Well said. A lot of folks overestimate their abilities and overstate their intentions.

Well since the internet tough guys have spoken this thread can be closed. MRC is the best thing going so every SS should have it. End discussion.
