I saw in a different section of the forum a repeat of the prediction that Pricing Plans may not be available for 6 to 10 months which got me thinking more seriously and as a result I changed my ^ prediction to after Presidents Day and before St. Patrick's Day based on what has normally happened in past new vehicle/new generation model introductions.

I just figured if pricing plans were a no go, that this discount would be a no go as well. Not sure why I assumed that since I know pricing plans and discounts are treated separately...usually.

Military pricing is currently attached to Supplier pricing, so I would say yes.

When I was first eligible (by marriage) for Employee Pricing, the rule of thumb was 11% off base price and 13% off options. In those days power steering and power brakes were options. Pricing has changed just as who is eligible has expanded. My point: work with your dealer. Supplier pricing is MORE than Invoice so what might look like a best deal may not be.

But the V8 equipped Camaro will be in demand for at least the next few months. If a V8 is not a priority, the will be plenty of non-V8 Camaros to consider.

Both Farmers and USAA are often available before Pricing Plans but I recall there was also a lag time when the C7 came out, but I do not believe it was the near six months the C7 went before Pricing Plans were good.

Just talked to the dealer, they are still willing to honor the employee price. Sitting down with them Tuesday. We will see.

Can someone explain how the dealership can honor employee pricing when GM is not offering the discount?

I have my dealership saying that they will and in email. They have always honored the discount for me and on my 2010 Camaro when I ordered it when they first came out.

I am just being cautious, if I cannot get my price then I walk and someone else gets my car.

The dealer gives up the subsidy. He can sell the build for any price he wants (notice the Added Dealer Markup stories) but can not claim the subsidy if the program is not available.

Six to ten months is essentially the entire model year.

I'm not planning on buying immediately anyway, so I will just wait to keep an eye on when GM loosens the reigns a bit.

USAA discount is no more. You can check on the usaa web page and you will see they no longer list Chevy. I was informed by my dealer of this.
